Pictures for your thoughts: Satterlee, Haas, and Leppo at Williams Grove Speedway!

PICTURES FOR YOUR THOUGHTS: TEAM FULLY INJECTED

Gregg Satterlee in action last night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The Rochester Mills native and Fully Injected teammate finished 4th in the non-stop super late model main event. This was the only appearance by the super late models in 2012 at Williams Grove. He will return to action this evening at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania for the UFO sanctioned “Chiller Thriller.” There were 38 late models signed in for last night’s event! Jason Covert won the 25 lapper – with Jeremy Miller and Nick Dickson rounding out the podium finishers.

Cory Haas was in route to a top three finish last night at Williams Grove Speedway during the ’410′ sprint car main event- but lost a left rear tire while running third with just two laps to go! The York native has suffered from quite a bit of bad luck thus far in 2012, and will look to turn things around this evening at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania.

Brian Leppo earned a top five finish last night after starting the 25 lap/ ’410′ sprint car main event inside of row number four. The Spring Grove, Pennsylvania native would finish 5th – just behind Montieth, Rahmer, Lance Dewease and Greg Hodnett. There were just shy of 35 cars in action last night, with 33 officially signed in.

O’Neal Outduels Owens Again in Lucas Oil Series Event at Jackson

BYRAM, MS (March 30, 2012) – For the second Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event in a row, Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN passed defending series champion, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN to deny Owens his first win of the season. O’Neal took the lead on lap 38 from Owens and then went on for the $10,000 victory in the “Southern 50” at Jackson Motor Speedway before the biggest crowd in track history.

Owens finished second followed by Tyler Reddick of Corning, CA who passed Jared Landers of Batesville, AR on the final lap to take third. Wendell Wallace of Batesville, AR completed the top five.

Last week at Brownstown (IN) Speedway Owens held a commanding lead until O’Neal tracked him down and passed him for the win. At Jackson, Owens led the first 38 circuits of the race, despite several laps running in heavy lapped traffic. O’Neal grabbed the lead with 12 laps left to take his fourth LOLMDS win of 2012.

“Wow this is just unbelievable,” said the 47-year-old veteran gunning for his first career series title. He has finished runner-up twice before. “Jimmy was solid again, tonight I really didn’t think I could catch him like I did at Brownstown, but he started coming back to me after a couple of cautions and I knew if I stayed right with him, I could make a run for the lead.”

This win is the 23rd of his career in Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competition. O’Neal has now climbed to second in points, just behind Owens. “Ever since we started running this series full-time, we have come up just short in winning the points title. The way last year was, I didn’t think we could run any better than we did. To win championships, you have to be consistent and this has just been an awesome start for 2012,” said the winner in Lucas Oil Victory Lane.

“I have to thank all the crew: Tader Masters, Cody Mahoney, everybody at the shop. We are just clicking on all cylinders and it’s still only March,” said the veteran wheelman. O’Neal drives the MasterSbilt Chassis House Car sponsored by Optima Batteries, Independence lumber, Jones Core, Seubert Calf Ranches, Tarpy Trucking, Superior Cleaning Services, O’Neal Mulch, and Budda Bert Transmissions.
“It’s also great to win here in the home-state of my engine builder Jay Dickens, there’s not another motor better.”

Owens drove the Mike Reece-owned, Reece Monument Company, Bloomquist Race Cars Ford. Reddick had an impressive run from seventh and nabbed third in the Broken Bow records, Stoney Creek Records, Bloomquist Race Cars entry to equal his best finish of the year.

Completing the top ten were Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA; Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Steve Francis of Ashland, KY; Bubba Mullins of West Monroe, LA; and Timothy Culp also of West Monroe, LA.

In preliminary events Jared Landers was the Red Buck Cigars Fast Qualifier among the 45 entrants with a lap of 15.376 seconds. Heat races were won by Landers, Don O’Neal, Jimmy Owens, and Jimmy Cliburn. Steve Francis and Chris Wall captured the B-Mains.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series now moves to the state of Texas on Saturday Night, March 31st for a visit to Lonestar Speedway in Kilgore, TX for the $10,000 to win “High Banks Havoc” to conclude the month of March.

Rain Postpones World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Saturday Event at Calistoga Speedway

With more than seven inches of rain in the past three weeks and additional rain throughout the week, Calistoga Speedway was unable to be touched until Friday afternoon. And then it started raining again on the half-mile track and is not projected to stop until early Sunday morning.

“We have worked closely with track officials all week trying to get the surface ready for Saturday’s race, but Mother Nature didn’t want to cooperate,” World of Outlaws CEO Brian Carter said. “The entire Napa County Fairgounds is completely saturated and it hasn’t stopped raining long enough for any chance of racing on Saturday or Sunday this week. Unfortunately this forces us to postpone the event and we’re looking at potential dates that will work for the World of Outlaws and Calistoga Speedway. We will announce the plans as soon as they are finalized.”

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series returns to action on Friday, April 13, at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway and Saturday, April 14, at Federated Auto Parts Raceway (formerly I-55 Raceway) in Pevely, Mo., just south of St. Louis.

Swindell Relies on Patience, Good Luck Charm for First Win

He retakes the World of Outlaws points lead as the top five are separated by only 14 points

MERCED, Calif. – March 30, 2012 – There was a special person on the mind of Sammy Swindell as he climbed down from his wing dance on Friday.

Swindell’s granddaughter, Zoe, delivered a special message before the veteran picked up his first World of Outlaws feature victory of the season in front of a rowdy crowd at Merced Speedway.

“She called me, wished me good luck and hoped I won, so I might have to make sure she makes more of those calls,” Swindell said with a grin.

It was Swindell’s 277th career World of Outlaws feature win and one when he used every bit of his experience. A year after winning the first-ever World of Outlaws race at Merced Speedway, the track was different – reconfigured from a quarter-mile bullring to a one-third miler with wider turns and it was a lot more slick than last year’s heavy track.

“It was definitely a tough race track,” he said. “You had to be real patient and stay on line. I was watching some of the guys when we got to traffic and it still looked like the bottom was probably a little bit better lane. So it was just making sure I didn’t miss my marks and I just tried to stay down there.

“I was going to make them try to take it from me. I just didn’t want to give it up and slip off the bottom.”

Swindell, who started on the pole of the 40-lap feature after winning the dash from the pole, was challenged the entire race by Cody Darrah. He stayed within striking distance and even pulled within a car length on several occasions, but Darrah was unable to make a move for the lead.

“On my restarts I could never gain anything,” he said. “I’d always lose a little bit. We had a pretty good car. I’d get up to his left rear (tire) and never really be able to capitalize. I was just kind of waiting on him to make a mistake.

“When we got into traffic I thought something would happen.”

After four timely cautions within the first 16 laps of the race reset the field just as Swindell was entering lapped traffic each time, the final 35 laps were caution free. Swindell reached lapped traffic for the initial time just past the midpoint of the feature and Darrah gave chase the entire time.

On a couple of occasions, Darrah pulled to the bumper of Swindell, including on the second-to-last lap. However, Swindell was smooth and Darrah finished a couple of car lengths behind the veteran as Jason Sides tried to make it a three-way battle just as the checkered flag was waved.

“We were kinda catching those guys toward the end, but just ran out of laps,” Sides said. “(Swindell is) really good in traffic. On a small track like this, that’s what a lot of the key things are. I saw Cody right there with him and he was following his every move. It was going to be hard to get by them unless we had something happen, some kind of spin or something.”

Kraig Kinser, who posted the fastest lap in qualifying at 10.878 seconds, finished fourth and Jason Meyers rounded out the top five in the final race of his Allstar Appreciation Tour.

After flipping on the final lap of his heat race, Craig Dollansky claimed the Last Chance Showdown and earned the KSE Hard Charger Award after driving from 14th to sixth. Steve Kinser was seventh, Joey Saldana eighth, Chad Kemenah ninth and Terry McCarl placed 10th.

Steve Kinser, Saldana and Kemenah each won heat races.

Swindell’s win also put him back atop the World of Outlaws points standings. He has a six-point lead over Donny Schatz with Sides in third – eight points back. Saldana is fourth and trails by 12 markers with Kraig Kinser climbing to fifth – 14 points behind Swindell.

DOLL & BROWN JOIN EASTERN MUSEUM OF MOTOR RACING GRAND OPENING

YORK SPRINGS, Penna., Monday, March 26, 2012 – Darwin Doll and Davey Brown, Sr., have joined the list of celebrities for the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing Phase IV Grand Opening on Saturday March 31 and Sunday April 1, 2012.

Doll, a veteran National Hot Rod Association Regional Director, has coordinated an all-new drag racing display in the museum calling on his many friends and contacts for help. As with all of the exhibits within the museum covering different motorsport arenas, the new drag racing display helps tell the story of the history of drag racing in the Eastern United States. Headlining the new area will be the Jungle Jim Lieberman funny car, the Dave Strickler Old Reliable 1963 Chevy, and the Bruce Larson Mr. Clean altered.

Veteran engine builder and crew chief Davey Brown, Sr. will be reunited with former drivers Johnny Mackison, Sr., Lynn Paxton, and Doug Wolfgang on Sunday. Brown’s resume includes time spent working with many great eastern racers, but some of his biggest moments came with Mackison, Paxton, and Wolfgang. He and Mackison raced coupes and the early NASCAR circuit at famous tracks like Darlington and Martinsville. Brown’s engines propelled Paxton to his two Williams Grove National Open wins in 1982 and 1983. In 1984 Brown teamed with car owner Bob Weikert and driver Doug Wolfgang to win two Knoxville Nationals and three Williams Grove National Open titles over the next three years.

Activities at the now nearly 20,000 square foot Eastern Museum of Motor Racing will begin Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and will include special guests State Senator Rich Alloway, keynote speaker National Funny Car Champion Bruce Larson, veteran drag racing announcer George Nye, Bill “Grumpy” Jenkins, and the widow of Pro Stock legend, Mrs. Ronnie Sox.

Attica Raceway Park ready to open its doors!

(Attica, OH) Attica Raceway Park will kick off its 25th season of racing on Friday, March 30, 2012, featuring the O’Reilly Auto Parts 410 Sprints, Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 Sprints.

The excitement has been growing all winter, as new race teams have been working hard to come out swinging against the veteran teams. Who will challenge Dean Jacobs for the 410 sprint title? Will it be six time champion and 2010 F.A.S.T. (Fremont/Attica Sprint Title) champion Byron Reed or 2009 ARP champion Chris Andrews with his new team, the Burmeister #16? Or could it be 2009 F.A.S.T. champion Craig Mintz or 2011 F.A.S.T. champion Bryan Sebetto and his new Hammer Racing #24h team? Could it be a Brad Haudenschild in his new Pete Grove Racing team or 2011 ARP Rookie Brad Bowman? It could be a new team or some of the young chargers who have stepped up their program for 2012 like Phil Gressman.

In the late models, can anyone stop Ryan Missler’s three straight track championships? Will Jon Henry dominate in victories like he did in 2011? Can some of the other hard chargers like Justin Chance, or five time street stock/limited late model champion Larry Kingseed, or Matt Irey or Mike Bores or former champion Ken Hahn knock Missler off the top?

Satterlee plans to visit Williams Grove Speedway this Friday evening!

Western Pennsylvania super late model standout, Gregg Satterlee, is planning to make a Williams Grove Speedway appearance this Friday evening, March 30th! The super late models will join the ’410′ sprint cars on the evening card at “The Grove”- giving  ”Pennsylvania Posse” fans a mixture of the short track world that doesn’t involve a top wing. Satterlee, who spent much of the early racing season in Georgia and Florida competing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, plans to visit Williams Grove on Friday before making a possible trek east to Mercer Raceway Park on Saturday, March 31st, for the UFO sanctioned ‘Chiller Thriller!’ With most of Satterlee’s operation now based near Baltimore, Maryland – the familiar ’22′ will more than likely visit Central Pennsylvania on a number of occasions in 2012; including a visit during the annual Appalachian Speekweek!

Racing at Williams Grove Speedway will begin at 7:30PM!

Brian Leppo looks for Williams Grove Speedway victory lane this Friday evening!

Spring Grove, Pennsylvania native, Brian Leppo, will return to sprint car action this Friday night, March 30th, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The Keen Motorsports pilot finished 7th at the Williams Grove Speedway “Opener” on March 23rd – holding off Rick Lafferty, Danny Holtgraver, and Chad Layton for the top 10 finish in the non-stop, 25 lap main event. This weekend, the familiar Peterbilt/Hunter Truck Sales sponsored ’17′ will return to ‘The Grove’ – looking to improve on his top 10 performance, and hopefully, add another mark in his new season win column. The super late models will join the ’410′s’ on the evening card.

“We are really excited for this Friday” quoted Leppo about returning to Williams Grove this upcoming weekend, “We had a solid run last Friday and now we have something to build on!”

The transition from ’71′ to ’17′ has obviously been a comfortable one for Leppo - with five starts equaling 1 win, 1 top 5, and 2 top 10′s for the Keen Motorsports program. The lone victory came at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on March 17th over a hard charging Brian Montieth and Danny Dietrich. The former Lincoln Speedway ‘Rookie of the Year’ is currently tied with Adam Wilt in the Speedway Motors Central PA Sprint Car Point Series; only trailing Alan Krimes by 12 points for seventh position.

“As of now, we are just racing at Williams Grove this weekend (March 30th)” explained Leppo, “If we go to Lincoln, it will be a last minute decision.”

Jared Miley ready for the “Chiller Thriller” at Mercer Raceway Park!

Jared Miley Racing will finally make its 2012 debut this Saturday evening during the ‘UFO’ sanctioned ”Chiller Thriller” at Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The super late models will make their lone appearance of 2012 at the 3/8′s mile bullring this weekend; giving Mercer fans an opportunity to witness another top-notch Western Pennsylvania class. This weekend’s scheduled “Chiller Thriller” is also the first race of MRP’s 2012 season!

Miley’s plan to kick-off the season last Saturday evening at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland was haulted by weather. Wet and rainy conditions flooded most of the Mid-Atlantic region; leaving most tracks in the upper northeast with no choice but to cancel. With super late model action still limited in Western Pennsylvania and the surrounding areas, Mercer Raceway Park will definitely be the place to be Saturday night for late model enthusiasts. The UFO main event on Saturday will pay $3,000 to the winner.

“Mercer’s Chiller Thriller will kick off the 2012 UFo season, as it has in recent years. Mike Knight, of Ripley, NY, claimed the 2010 edition, but the 2011 event was lost due to inclement weather. Because Mercer will be hosting the only Super Late Model race the final weekend in March, a full field of top drivers is expected.”

Jared Miley in victory lane with the UFO Race Championship super late models at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (2011).

Jared Miley is certainly no stranger to UFO action; as the team competed on an ‘almost’ full-time basis with the series in 2011. The South Park, Pennsylvania native ended his 2011 UFO season third in the overall standings; while also earning wins at Tyler County Speedway and Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex.

“Its about time!” explained Matt Miley who is the crew chief on the JMR H1, “We wanted to race last weekend but the rain obviously didn’t allow that to happen…we all have that itch…we are ready to get the season rolling.”

Gates for the “Chiller Thriller” will swing open at 4 p.m., and racing will begin at 7 p.m.

Defending LOLMDS National Champion, Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN will lead the field of the nation’s best and brightest stars into the Jackson and LoneStar sanctioned events. Owens along with 2-time series champion, Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, TN; Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN; Steve Francis of Ashland, KY; 2011 Quarter Master Rookie of the Year, Jared Landers of Batesville, AR; and 4-time series champion, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, who drives for Texas native and 2000 NASCAR champion, Bobby Labonte are all expected to challenge some of the top regional racers from that area.
Other drivers expected to compete in Mississippi and Texas include John Blankenship of Williamson, WV; 16-year-old phenom, Tyler Reddick of Corning, CA; Ray Cook of Brasstown, NC; Eric Wells of Hazard, KY; and Terry Casey of New London, WI. Also joining the star studded line-up of drivers that run the series will be two drivers running the series full-time this year as Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, GA and Austin Hubbard of Seaford, DE will compete at both events.

“2012 is shaping up to be one of most competitive seasons we have ever had on the LOLMDS since its inception in 2005. Last year’s points battle came down to the last race between two drivers but this year’s field could produce a first time series champion and a tight point’s battle all season long. We’re excited about our season and look forward to putting on our show in front of the great race fans in both Mississippi and Texas”, stated Ritchie Lewis, Series Director.

‘Illini 100′ on deck for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series!

Mid-Week Promotion Sets Stage For $20,000-To-Win World of Outlaws Late Model Series Spectacular On March 30-31

By Kevin Kovac, WoO LMS P.R. Director

FARMER CITY, IL – March 24, 2012 – The fourth running of the ‘Illini 100′ will rock Farmer City Raceway on March 30-31, but the build-up to the $20,000-to-win World of Outlaws Late Model Series spectacular will begin on Tues., March 27, about a half-hour’s drive southeast of the quarter-mile clay oval.

Farmer City promoter Jeff Hammer has organized the inaugural Illini 100 Kickoff Party & Car Show for 4-8 p.m. on March 27 at the Bob Evans restaurant on 1813 N. Neil Road in Champaign, Ill., providing both diehard and casual fans an opportunity to see some of the cars and drivers that will compete in the track’s blockbuster event.

“The Illini 100 is the biggest race of the year at Farmer City Raceway and we’re trying to get the word out in a real good market for us,” said Hammer, who is beginning his second year at the helm of the fairgrounds facility’s weekly action. “The Champaign Bob Evans has joined us as a partner at the speedway this year and they’re giving us a new avenue to expose the track and the Illini 100 weekend in a very busy area just off Interstate 74 near the Market Place Mall.”

Dozens of race cars will be on display in the Bob Evans parking lot on March 27, including dirt Late Models driven by former DIRTcar UMP national champion Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., teenage sensation Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, Ill., Donny Walden of Towanda, Ill., and Jim (‘MoonMan’) Moon of Mt. Auburn, Ill. Hammer said WoO LMS Rookie of the Year contender Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., also might bring his machine to the Kickoff Party.

The drivers will be with their cars to meet fans and sign autographs throughout the affair, which will also feature a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, special giveaways, driver apparel sales and awards for participants (Best Appearing Car, Bob Evans Guest Pick and Longest Tow).

***************************************************
This year’s Illini 100 weekend will also include a $5,000-to-win DIRTcar UMP Modified event (heats on Fri., March 30, and B-Mains and 50-lap feature on Sat., March 31) and racing for Farmer City’s weekly support classes. The DIRTcar UMP Pro Late Models, Street Stocks and Hornets will run complete programs on Friday evening, and the Pro Late Models and Street Stocks will return on Saturday night to battle in regular racing cards.

Pit gates are scheduled to be unlocked at 4 p.m. for Thursday’s practice and 12 noon on Friday and Saturday, with hot laps set to start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and 5 p.m. on Saturday and qualifying to immediately follow.

The ‘Will Call’ window for ticket pickup will open at 5 p.m. on Thursday and 11:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and the front gates will open at 12 noon on both Friday and Saturday.

Illini 100 ticket prices (reserved and general admission) are $15 (Friday) and $30 (Saturday), with children’s tickets (ages 12-and-under) priced at $5 (Friday) and $15 (Saturday). Two-day tickets cost $40 (adults) and $20 (children) if purchased in advance, while pit passes are $25 on Thursday, $30 on Friday and $40 on Saturday with a two-day band available for $65 and a three-day band (including Thursday’s practice) offered for $85. DIRTcar members receive a $5 discount on pit-admission packages.

Seats can be reserved in advance for both nights on-line at www.worldofoutlaws.com/tickets or by calling the event hotline at 877-395-8606. Pre-race reserved-seat ticket sales will conclude at 5 p.m. on Wed., March 28, and then all tickets will be general admission.

Reserved trackside parking spots are sold out, event officials said.

More information on Farmer City Raceway is available by logging on to www.farmercityracing.com or calling 217-552-0432 (main line) or 217-552-0434 (promoter Jeff Hammer).

FI’s Joe Martin ready for the FASTRAK Northeast “Super Nationals I.”

Ringgold, PA – Joe Martin’s 2012 season in FASTRAK competition has finally arrived. The Ringgold, Pennsylvania native will begin his 2012 campaign next weekend at the Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania. The  Sweeney Chevrolet-Buick-GMC Pace Performance FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series will sanction a two-day event at the southwest Pennsylvania venue; hosting some of the top FASTRAK late model teams in the Mid-Atlantic. Martin plans to spend his entire season on the road with the regional based series; hoping to be a contender for the 2012 title. Action this weekend at Roaring Knob will begin on Saturday, March 31st – with the $3,000-to-win finale being held on Sunday, April 1st!

“The “Super Nationals” will feature a $3,000 to-win main event plus a $1,200 to-win “Wheelman” bonus feature for the first 24 non-qualifiers. Another feature event paying $500 to-win will also be run for the next group of non-qualifiers, if at least 12 cars remain. The $1,200 to-win race will utilize the standard Touring payoff. This means at least 48 drivers will get to run a feature utilizing Touring payoffs! The same format will be used when the “Super Nationals II” takes place at Roaring Knob on October 19-20.

Martin had a successful 2011 FASTRAK campaign; earning multiple wins, along with a sixth place finish in the final FASTRAK Northeast Late Model Touring Series standings. The Martin Farms/Allegheny Crane Rental/Fully Injected ’55′ pilot looks to have a successful season in 2012 –  with year ending plans to make an appearance at the annual Fastrak Grand Nationals!

Holtgraver will ‘switch directions’ and head to Attica Raceway Park next Friday night!

Holtgraver ready to head to Attica!
Written by Tracy Fry
www.fullyinjected.com

Pittsburgh, PA – Pittsburgh native Danny Holtgraver took advantage of a perfect pill draw and a perfect last lap pass Friday evening, March 23rd, at Williams Grove Speedway to earn himself a ninth place finish among a very stout field of 44 Central Pennsylvania sprint car competitors. The Kargo Quality Cars/Alternative Power Sources ’D4′ held off charges by former World of Outlaws competitor, Daryn Pittman, and former Knoxville Nationals champion, Tim Shaffer, to solidify himself inside the top 10 of Friday night’s Williams Grove Speedway opening night, 25 lap feature.

“We were really pleased with our results” explained Holtgraver when discussing Friday night’s top 10 finish, “I mean, to go out there with 40 other cars of that caliber and grab a top 10…it is just an awesome feeling!”

The former Lernerville Speedway Track Champion passed Chad Layton on the last circuit to grab the ninth position. He raced in the tenth spot for much of the non-stop 25 lap main event before catching Layton, and passing the Middleswarth no. 7 in the last corner. Danny Dietrich was the event winner; with Brian Montieth and Fred Rahmer rounding out the top three finishers.

As for next weekend, the scenery for Holtgraver will change once again. With the All-Star Circuit of Champions making a scheduled stop at the always exciting Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on April 6th and 7th, the Pittsburgh based ‘D4′ team has decided to make an appearance at the Attica Raceway Park “Opener” this weekend, March 30th, to give the team a chance to ‘dial-in.’ The All-Star event at Attica in two weeks is also the first “Ohio Region” event on the 2012 schedule - a portion of the All-Star tour that Holtgraver plans to follow. Hopefully a trip to Attica a week early will help build some early momentum towards an All-Star regional championship.

“The plan right now is to head to Attica Raceway Park this Friday for their opener” quoted Holtgraver, “that place (Attica) is so awesome and we have an All-Star race coming up there in two weeks so we want to be ready.”

Gates are scheduled to open at Attica Raceway Park this Friday, March 30th, at 5PM with racing slated to begin at 7:45PM. The 410 sprint cars will be joined by the UMP Late Models and 305 sprinters.

Danny Holtgraver would like to thank all of his marketing partners including: Kargo Sales and Storage, Alternative Power Source, DKW Transport, PPI, Spinneweber Auto Sales, Bastin Truck Parts, West View Motors, Bagleys Auto Service, Frankland Rearends, Dan Taylor Racing, VRP Shocks, Kistler Engines, J&J Chassis, Butlerbuilt Seats, Zerowraps, www.fullyinjected.com.

FI’s Cory Haas already looking forward to next weekend!

Haas in action at Williams Grove Speedway Friday night – Rick Rarer Photo

York, PA – Although Cory Haas did not have quite the results he was looking for this past Friday night at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, he did benefit from some experimentation. The York, Pennsylvania native, who in recent years switched into ’410′ sprint car racing full time from the ’358′ ranks, finished 19th at the Williams Grove Speedway “Opener” on 3/23/12 - with much of the evening’s bad luck resulting from a bad pill draw at the beginning of the night. The former ’358′ track champion at Williams Grove failed to qualify for the evening’s ’410′ main event by way of heat race finish, forcing the 11C to compete in one of the evening’s two consolation B-mains. He would transfer into the evening’s 25 lap feature from the B-main, where he would rally in the non-stop event to finish 19th.

“We had a bad draw on Friday night and its tough to start in the back here (Williams Grove Speedway) and get to the front…especially in a heat race” explained Haas after reviewing his Friday night results, “we experimented with some things and we learned quite a bit…so the weekend wasn’t a complete loss!”

Next weekend, the MB Builder Developer 11C program will head to Williams Grove Speedway on Friday evening, before venturing into the Pigeon Hills on Saturday for a night at Lincoln Speedway. This upcoming Friday and Saturday will also be Haas’ first double-race weekend of the year. Lincoln Speedway’s event yesterday (3/24/12) was cancelled due to wet and rainy conditions; thus, only allowing Haas to have one night of competition. The Fully Injected teammate currently sits ninth in the Lincoln Speedway point’s chase – while his disappointing finish at Williams Grove Speedway this past Friday night left him 19th in the current standings.
