Holtgraver Makes Changes: Heads To Central PA This Weekend!
Holtgraver in action at Lernerville Speedway – Rick Rarer Photo
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native and Fully Injected member, Danny Holtgraver, has decided to alter his weekend plans and head east instead of west. With weather becoming a major factor with the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series events in Ohio and Michigan this weekend, the Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks ‘D4′ operation has decided to scratch their plans to race with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ and instead venture to Lernerville Speedway, Port Royal Speedway, and Bedford Speedway for a three day swing through Pennsylvania.
Holtgraver will make a stop at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania tomorrow evening, June 1st, for a ‘Fab Four’ program event. The Alternative Power Sources team won the ’410′ sprint car track championship at the Sarver oval back in 2010. From there, Holtgraver and company will venture to the big half mile of Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania for a regular event. The ’410′ sprint cars and late models will headline the Saturday night, June 2nd, program at the Juniata County Fairgrounds. The weekend long Pennsylvania swing will wrap up at another fairgrounds half mile; this time at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania. The ’410′ sprint cars will make their lone appearance of the 2012 season this Sunday, June 3rd, at the Bedford oval. The event will award $3,500 to the winner and $300 to start! Points towards the Central Pennsylvania sprint car standings will be awarded at this event, so expect to see a healthy roster of PA Posse talent invade the Bedford County Fairgrounds!

What:
The always prestigious “Pombo/Sargent Classic” is set for action this Saturday night at the Kings Speedway in Hanford for the Cancen Oil KWS Series presented by Goodyear. The event honors California racing legends Al Pombo & Marshall Sargent and has been going on for over 20-years. The “Pombo/Sargent Classic” started at Kings Speedway in the 1980’s, before moving to the Thunderbowl Raceway in 2006.
This season however, the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” returns home to Kings Speedway and everyone is excited for that occurrence. “We are really happy to have the Pombo/Sargent Classic back home at Kings Speedway,” said track promoter Scott Woodhouse. “It should be a great night and we’ll also have the Vintage Super Modifieds as a tribute to the rivalry and friendship of Al Pombo & Marshall Sargent.”
Chico’s Jonathan Allard has extended his point lead to 38-markers going into this weekend at the Kings Speedway. The two-time state champion ended the KWS season last year by winning the Cotton Classic in Hanford and always runs well at the track. San Jose’s Tim Kaeding ranks second in the standings going into the “Pombo/Sargent Classic” and will look to bring home a win in his car owner’s backyard.
Eleven-time “Pombo/Sargent Classic” winner Brent Kaeding has moved to third in the Cancen Oil KWS Series presented by Goodyear point standings, with Scotts Valley’s Evan Suggs and Elk Grove’s Bobby McMahan rounding out the top-five. Three-time and defending event winner Tommy Tarlton of Easton will be another strong addition to the roster on Saturday, along with other top-10 KWS drivers Andy Gregg, Peter Murphy, Jason Statler, Willie Croft and Craig Stidham, plus many more.
When:
The front gate will open at 5:00pm this Saturday night June 2 at the Kings Speedway, with qualifying around 6:30pm and racing around 7:00pm.

The Kings Speedway is located on the Kings County Fairgrounds in Hanford, California. The physical address is 801 S. 10th Ave. Hanford, Ca 93230. More information can be found at http://www.kingsspeedway.net or by contacting (559) 584-7223.
About the track:
The Kings Speedway is a three-eighths mile semi-banked clay oval and is one of the higher-speed tracks that the Cancen Oil King of the West Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear competes at. Colton Flinner Moves Closer To The Top: Now Second In PPMS Standings!
Colton Flinner in action at PPMS – Wilson Photo
Allison Park, Pennsylvania native and Fully Injected crate late model standout, Colton Flinner, finds himself closer and closer to the top spot of the Brougher’s Machine Shop FASTRAK/Pro Late Model Standings at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway. The defending FASTRAK/Pro Late track champion at ‘Dirt’s Monster Half Mile’ finished inside the top five during his most recent start at the Pittsburgh facility; crossing the start/finish line 4th in the running order at the end of the Pro Late Model main event last Saturday night. With consistency on his side during his most recent starts at the famed oval, Flinner has worked his way up to being a mere 17 points behind Kyle Lukon for the top spot in the PPMS standings.
Colton Flinner’s results, past and present, has gained him national attention. The Western PA crate late model hotshoe was recently featured in an article published in Dirt Late Model Magazine.
With a busy portion of the PPMS schedule approaching, Flinner will have plenty of opportunities to overtake to the top spot in the track standings. Six more ‘Sizzler Series’ events are also on the Pittsburgh schedule; offering a $1,000 pay day for the FASTRAK/Pro Late Model winner at each event. This Saturday, June 2nd, the FASTRAK/Pro Late Models will return for a regular ‘Action Event’ at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

Cory Haas 4th In Lincoln Speedway Standings: Slowly Preparing For All-Star Event on June 9th!
Cory Haas in action at Lincoln Speedway – Rick Rarer
York, Pennsylvania’s Cory Haas has been on a recent hot streak at Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The former ’358′ Lincoln Speedway Track Champion currently sits 4th in the ’410′ sprint car standings entering this weekend’s regular event; just 10 points shy of Brent Marks who holds down third. Haas has two wins at the Pigeon Hills facility in 2012; including an “Outlaw Tune-Up” win early last month. The Fully Injected teammate then scored a top five finish with “The Greatest Show on Dirt” on May 10th; finishing 4th with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series during their only appearance of 2012. This Saturday’s program will be a regular point night for the ’410′ sprint cars at Lincoln Speedway, but the following Saturday, June 9th, the All-Star Circuit of Champions will be making an appearance in the Pigeon Hills bringing with them a $5,000 top prize and a boat load of talent.
Cory Haas, and the entire ’11C’ operation, will try to steal the $5,000 away from “America’s Series” in two weekends. ‘Home track advantage’ in Central Pennsylvania has always acted as a factory when traveling series’ make their way into the Keystone State. With recent time trial show success, and an impressive performance with the World of Outlaws already under Haas’ belt, there is not a doubt in anybody’s mind that the York native can find victory lane during the next two weekends.
This weekend’s event at Lincoln Speedway will act just as important as any event at the Abbottstown oval in 2012. Haas sits less than 260 markers behind point leader, Danny Dietrich, in the current ’410′ standings. A solid evening on Saturday, June 2nd would not only set the tone for the upcoming All-Star event, but allow Haas to close the gap on Dietrich’s demanding point lead.

Travis Philo set for Outlaw invasion at Attica Raceway Park!
Philo in action at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio – Rick Rarer Photo
Bowling Green, Ohio native and F.A.S.T. ’410′ sprint car competitor, Travis Philo, is set for action at Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio this weekend. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will be making their lone visit of the 2012 season this Friday evening, June 1st, at the ultra-racey 3/8′s mile oval located at the Attica Fairgrounds. The World of Outlaws, lead by Steve Kinser, Donny Schatz, and Sammy Swindell, will headline the $10,000-to-win Kistler Engines Classic Friday night; with the UMP Late Models also on the evening card. “The Greatest Show on Dirt” will face-off against some of the best drivers that Ohio has to offer including Fully Injected’s Travis Philo; and with the All-Star Circuit of Champions off this weekend, one can assume that a healthy roster of talent will be signed-in Friday night. Philo has been in action at Attica Raceway Park on a number of different occasions in 2012, and looks to qualify for the 40 lap main event this Friday evening.
Philo currently sits 13th in the Attica Raceway Park track standings. The familiar ’5T’ spends most of his weekends racing in Northwestern Ohio at tracks at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway; competing in the well-known Fremont/Attica Sprint Title series. The twenty-one year old finds himself 14th in the current F.A.S.T. standings, and looks to use his ‘home track advantage’ this weekend when “The Greatest Show on Dirt” rolls into Attica, Ohio.

World of Outlaws Late Model Series Books First-Ever Date At Selinsgrove Speedway On Sun., Aug. 26 Central Pennsylvania Half-Mile Set To Host 50-Lap, $10,000-To-Win Special SELINSGROVE, PA – May 29, 2012 – Selinsgrove Speedway will host the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for the first in its storied history on Sun., Aug. 26, track officials announced on Saturday night. The announcement, which was made during the half-mile oval’s weekly racing program, immediately triggered a rush of anticipation among Selinsgrove’s fans and regular dirt Late Model competitors. The 50-lap, $10,000-to-win event sponsored by Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center will be the biggest and richest Late Model race in Selinsgrove Speedway’s 63 years of existence. “I think the time is right now for a major Late Model race at Selinsgrove,” said Selinsgrove promoter Charlie Paige, who is in his 12th season operating a blazing-fast half-mile oval at which he’s worked in various capacities since 1980. “The Sprint Cars have probably been the biggest class and been taken care of with big races over the years at Selinsgrove, but the Late Models have really stepped up – especially this year – and they deserve a major show of their own. “We have some real good Late Model racing on a Saturday night, and I think our Late Model field is second to none in the state of Pennsylvania. Add to that the World of Outlaws Late Model Series drivers who will come in and the big (nearly $50,000) purse that will be on the line, and I think it’s gonna be a whale of a show on August 26. “This is going to be the biggest Late Model show Selinsgrove has ever seen,” he concluded, “so I think the fans should really turn out to see this deal because it’s gonna be history-making.” Selinsgrove Speedway presents weekly action for both the dirt Late Model and 358 Sprint Car divisions. Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., who has been entering selected WoO LMS events for several years and owns a fast-time honor on the national tour, has won seven dirt Late Model championships at Selinsgrove, including the last five in a row. The race will provide reigning WoO LMS champion Rick Eckert of York, Pa., an opportunity to race close to home at a track where he’s enjoyed success in the past. He lives an hour-and-a-half south of Selinsgrove and has five career feature wins there. “We’re very excited to bring the World of Outlaws Late Model Series to a track as historic and well known for great racing as Selinsgrove Speedway,” said WoO LMS director Tim Christman. “The central Pennsylvania area is certainly a hotbed of dirt-track racing and adding a date at Selinsgrove will give thousands of fans a chance to see the World of Outlaws Late Model Series race in their backyards.” The Selinsgrove show gives WoO LMS teams four events in the Northeast region during the week leading into the Labor Day holiday. The tour is scheduled to visit Winchester (Va.) Speedway on Sat., Aug. 25; Little Valley (N.Y.) Speedway on Wed., Aug. 29; and Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, W.Va., on Sat., Sept. 1 (Black Diamond 125). More details on the WoO LMS event at Selinsgrove Speedway, including information on advance-sale reserved seats, will be available in the near future atwww.selinsgrovespeedway.com. Joe Martin On A Roll: Two Consecutive Top Fives Over Memorial Day Weekend!
Martin in action earlier this year – Arch Photo
Team Fully Injected crate late model standout, Joe Martin, finished his Memorial Day weekend with two consecutive top five finishes in local and regional competition. The Ringgold, Pennsylvania native secured his first top five finish of the weekend Friday night, May 25th, at Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania; and his second on Saturday evening, May 26th, at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. Sharon Speedway was hosting the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series crate late models for two full nights this past weekend (Saturday and Sunday) for the Bill Emig Memorial, but inclement weather forced Sunday night’s event to be postponed. Martin was scheduled to start on the pole of Sunday night’s Bill Emig Memorial finale at Sharon Speedway.
The full-time FASTRAK Northeast competitor finished 3rd on Friday night during local competition at Dog Hollow Speedway after starting the crate late model main event from the last position. Mechanical failures during heat race action forced the Martin Farms ’55′ to start at the tail end of the feature lineup. Martin’s third place performance on Friday night would be backed up by another third place finish on Saturday evening at Sharon Speedway during the first night of the Bill Emig Memorial sanctioned by the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series. Once again, the Wylie racecar charged from deep within the pack; falling back as far as 10th at the start of the FASTRAK main event before rallying to finish inside the top three. Sunday night’s Bill Emig Memorial finale at Sharon Speedway was rained out. The make-up date for the event is scheduled for August 18th and Martin will start the rescheduled feature from the pole position.
The upcoming weekend will feature local competition for the Martin Farms/Zerowraps/’55.’ Joe Martin Motorsports will head back to Dog Hollow Speedway in Strongstown, Pennsylvania for one night of action on Friday, June 1st. The Friday night event at Dog Hollow Speedway will act as a warm-up and test date for the upcoming FASTRAK Northeast event at the venue on Friday, June 8th. The team now has 7 top five finishes in their last 10 starts as they continue to chase the FASTRAK Northeast Touring Series Championship.

World’s Top Sprint Drivers To Take On Tough Attica Competitors June 1st
By Brian Liskai
(Attica, OH) A lot has changed in sprint car racing over the past 34 years. But, as the old saying goes, “as much as things change, they remain the same.”
That’s especially true with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Back in the early days of the organization, it was Steve Kinser and Sammy Swindell battling for wins and championships. Fast forward to 2012… and it’s still Steve and Sammy battling for the point lead of the World of Outlaws as they get set for Northern Ohio’s only visit of “The Greatest Show on Dirt” on Friday, June 1st at Attica Raceway Park .
And just like the first time the World of Outlaws visited Attica in 1990, the tough weekly competition at “ Ohio ’s Finest Racing” speed plant will provide the travelling teams of the series with stiff competition.
With just two races prior to the Outlaws’ visit to Attica, 20 time series champion Steve Kinser, who won the first two World of Outlaw shows at Attica in 1990 and 1991, held a slim 18 point lead over Swindell, a three time series champion, who took an Outlaw victory at Attica in 1994.. Kinser has scored two wins in 2012 while Swindell has 4 series’ wins.
Four time World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz, a teammate of Kinser’s at Tony Stewart Racing, sits third in the 2012 standings with three feature wins. Schatz has won two of the last three World of Outlaws features at Attica, including last season’s exciting slide-job-trading win over Craig Dollansky, his first series’ win of 2011.
Kinser and Swindell each have four career wins at Attica while Schatz has two.
Joey Saldana, piloting a Kasey Kahne Racing entry, sits fourth on the Outlaws’ tour with two victories. Saldana captured many All Star Circuit of Champion wins at Attica over the years and took the World of Outlaws win at the track in 2007. He has six career victories at ARP.
Dollansky sits fifth in the Outlaw point standings with 3 wins in 2012. He has one career win at Attica.
Others expected to travel to Attica include Kraig Kinser, who is sixth in the Outlaw points; Chad Kemenah, who sits third on Attica’s all-time win list with 20 victories and scored an Outlaw win at Eldora recently; Cody Darrah, who sits 8th in the Outlaws points; Kerry Madsen who is ninth in the series’ points, Lucas Wolfe who is 10th in the points; Jason Sides, who is 11th in the standings; and Bill Rose, who is 12th in the points.
Look for Jac Haudenschild, Paul McMahan, who has an Outlaw win this season; and many of the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions such as Tim Shaffer, who has 10 career wins at Attica; Dale Blaney, who has 3 wins at Attica in 2012 and 16 career victories at the track and took the Outlaw win in 2009; David Gravel who has several top 10 runs with the Outlaws in 2012 and scored a series win in 2011; and more.
Then throw in the tough Attica weekly competitors like defending champion Dean Jacobs, who recently scored at win at Fremont Speedway and has 10 career victories at Attica; Bryan Sebetto, who scored a win recently at Attica and has 4 career victories at the track; Craig Mintz, who has two wins at Attica in 2012 and 7 total at the track in his career; Byron Reed, a six time Attica champion who has 28 career wins at the track to sit second on the all-time win list; Greg Wilson, who has 15 career wins at Attica; Phil Gressman, who has six career wins at Attica and sits third in the track’s current points; 2009 track champion Chris Andrews, who sits third in the track’s 2012 point standings; and a host of others.
Then throw in possibilities like several Pennsylvania teams and Stevie Smith, who has taken World of Outlaw wins at Attica in 1994 and 2005 and has four career wins at Attica.
And, to make things more interesting, the “locals” have plenty of monetary incentive to beat the Outlaws.
Not only will the teams be battling for the $10,000 payday for the 40-lap Kistler Engines Classic, but there are plenty of bonus funds up for grabs. Any driver in the Top-25 of Attica Raceway Park ’s weekly point standings who defeats the Outlaws for the feature victory will get an additional $2,500 from Attica Raceway Park . Should that driver also be in the Top-10 of the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champion’s National point standings through May 27th, there is another $1,000 bonus from that series. Also, engine manufacturers Kistler Engines, Gressman Powersports and Level Performance are offering a $2,000 gift certificate if one of the Top-25 in Attica ’s weekly point standings is running an engine built by one of those companies and wins the race. Also, All Pro Aluminum Heads is giving a $250 gift certificate if the race winner is using their engine heads.
Attica Raceway Park will also give the highest finisher in the A-Main that is in the track’s Top-25 in points a $500 bonus. If a driver in the Top-25 in points wins the race, then the second highest feature finisher in the Top-25 in points will get the $500 bonus.
And if that weren’t enough, Attica Raceway Park is one of very few tracks across the country to support those drivers who are in the top 25 in the season point standings, to pay for the $125 World of Outlaws membership fee for the June 1st show.
The Summit Racing Equipment UMP Late Models will also be in competition battling it out for $1,000 to win.
General admission tickets to the Kistler Engines Classic featuring the World of Outlaw Sprint Series are $30 for adults; $15 for teens ages 11-15; with kids 10 and under free. Pit passes will be $35 each. The top six rows in the middle grandstands (sections D, E, F and G) are reserved. Call 419-680-5606 or go to www.atticaracewaypark.com to view the reserved seating chart.
Pit gates will open Friday, June 1 at 3:30 p.m. with grandstands gates opening at 4 p.m. and racing at 7:45 p.m.
There are camping sites available with a limited number with electric hook-up (available for $10 per day).

Kemenah Heats Up in World of Outlaws Return to Lawrenceburg
The Findlay, Ohio, native withstands Kraig Kinser in an epic, side-by-side battle
LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. – May 28, 2012 – The hottest race day of the season produced arguably the best feature in a special Memorial Day event.
Fighting temperatures in the mid-90s and high humidity most of the day on Monday, Chad Kemenah outlasted Kraig Kinser to claim the first World of Outlaws feature at Lawrenceburg Speedway since 2009.
“I seen Kraig get underneath me a couple of times and I figured we were going to win it or wear it,” Kemenah said. “Kraig, he’s an awesome race car driver. He could have probably pinched me off there a couple of times. He raced me like I race him I believe and that matters.”
The duo traded the lead several times and battled side by side for nearly three consecutive laps. With Kemenah maintaining his momentum on the high lane, Kinser hit his marks on the bottom groove to stay within striking distance of first place.
Kemenah snuck by at the flag stand on lap 30 and barely edged Kinser on the ensuing lap, when a yellow flag was waved for a spin by Cody Darrah in turn four. Kemenah chose the inside lane on the double-file restart – which he had to do twice after the initial attempt was called back for Donny Schatz starting too early – and pulled away to his second Outlaws win of the season.
“It’s hard to win these things,” Kemenah said. “You’re racing against Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, and Schatz and Joey (Saldana). They’re the best and they’re the best for a reason. Any time you win them, you cherish them because you just don’t know when the next one is going to be.”
The race was anything but a given for Kemenah, who caught a break when Danny Lasoski – who led the first 11 laps of the feature – pulled to the infield with a blown engine on lap 12. That gave Kemenah the top spot with polesitter Craig Dollansky in hot pursuit.
The first caution of the race happened on lap 14 when Darrah slowed dramatically in turn two. Kemenah rocketed to a sizeable advantage on the restart while Dollansky and Kinser traded slide jobs for the runner-up position for several laps.
Traffic began to play a role with approximately a dozen laps remaining as Dollansky closed to within a car length of Kemenah for the lead. However, Dollansky’s right rear tire blew going into turn one on lap 27 – ending his bid for the win.
The restart featured a wild battle between Kemenah and Kinser, who first found the lead as he exited turn two on the bottom of lap 28. Kemenah stayed on the cushion and the momentum carried him into the lead entering each corner, but Kinser’s bottom lane propelled him to the top spot exiting the turns.
“It was getting fun there,” Kinser said. “He was a little bit better than me on the top, could carry his momentum a little bit better and he pulled it off tonight.
“I couldn’t carry that much momentum around the bottom. I don’t know if I was a little too free everywhere so I wasn’t tight enough where I could carry momentum to keep up with him up top. I was just trying to run the bottom to make the track as short as I could and just try to keep the car straight and under control the whole time.”
Kinser led laps 28 and 29 by a nose, and at one point almost had his car entirely in front of Kemenah. But the outside lane prevailed and Kemenah led the lap prior to the caution with five laps remaining, giving him the opportunity to choose where to start on the double-file restart.
The inside lane proved effective as he easily drove into a comfortable lead by turn one before moving to the cushion for the remainder of the race. Kinser and Kyle Larson then put on a show to close out the final laps.
The duo swapped the runner-up position a handful of times before Kinser slipped by exiting turn four on the final lap.
“We definitely set up for the end there,” Larson said after a season-best third-place finish. “We were really good at the end. Maybe could have used another caution, but who knows I might have got hung out like Kraig did there on that last restart. I’ll take a third.
“It’s always satisfying just finishing in the top 10 with these guys.”
World of Outlaws points leader Steve Kinser placed fourth and David Gravel was fifth. Sammy Swindell, who set fast time in qualifying with a lap of 11.924 seconds, ended sixth with Kerry Madsen seventh and NASCAR star Tony Stewart eighth. Daryn Pittman finished ninth and Jason Sides rounded out the top 10.
Lasoski, Dollansky, Larson and Gravel each picked up a heat race victory, and Danny Smith claimed the Last Chance Showdown.
Lucas Wolfe utilized a provisional and charged from last – 25th – to place 14th, earning the KSE Hard Charger Award for the first time this season.

DARREL LANIGAN WINS BUCKEYE CLASSIC PRESENTED BY TRENT INSURANCE
WRITTEN BY RYAN PEARSON.
Orrville, Ohio (May 25, 2012) NAPA AUTO PARTS Wayne County Speedway officials welcomed the World of Outlaw Late Models for their first appearance at the 3/8 mile speedplant in six years for the longtime historic Buckeye Classic presented by Trent Insurance. The packed grandstands were treated to some door handle to door handle side by side racing throughout the entire night.
In the Buckeye Classic NAPA AUTO PARTS Wayne County Speedway regular George Lee and Walker Arthur lead the field to the green. Arthur took the early lead and held it for several laps. Watertown, New York native Tim McCreadie dove under Arthur to power to the point and held a sizeable lead for most of the feature. A late race caution bunched the field and allowed Darrel Lanigan to close the gap and restart right on McCreadie’s bumper. McCreadie held off Lanigan until lap 47 and McCredie slipped high and Lanigan dove under him to take the lead and win. Lanigan was followed to the checkers by McCredie, Chub Frank and Arthur. Steve Shaver, Lee, Lanigan and Frank won heat races.
In the Bremenour Electric Modifieds Norm Aronhalt took the early lead from long time front runner Darrick Hubbard. On lap two the caution flew for Charlie Summers who spun in turn two. When the racing resumed Aronhalt sprung out to the lead again. A tight battle for second waged between Dan Davies and Hubbard. Davies wrestled the position away from Hubbard but Hubbard tried to battle back. Aronhalt was the class of the field as he took the checkers ahead of Davies, DJ Cline and Hubbard. Winning heat races were Aronhalt and Hubbard.

Holtgraver Seventh in Fremont ‘All-Star’ Finale ~ Ready for Ohio/Michigan Weekend!
Holtgraver Seventh in Fremont ‘All-Star’ Finale ~ Ready for Ohio/Michigan Weekend!

Pittsburgh) Danny Holtgraver spent his Memorial Day weekend on the road with some of the best sprint car teams on the planet. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina on Friday night, May 25th; competing with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for one full night of competition. After a long evening with ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt” at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Holtgraver and the entire Kargo Quality Cars and Trucks operation traveled north to Fremont, Ohio for two full nights with the All-Star Circuit of Champions at Fremont Speedway. ‘America’s Series’ hosted two ‘Ohio Region’ events on May 26th and 27th; offering $3,000 to the winner on Saturday, and $10,000 to the winner on Sunday. Holtgraver had a ‘semi-successful’ weekend; suffering from a familiar case of ‘bad pills.’
“We had some tough luck with pills this weekend” explained Holtgraver about his Memorial Day weekend on the road, “On Friday night, we were just bad in qualifying, totally missing it…then, we pulled a really good pill Saturday, but the track was wet…then we pulled a terrible pill Sunday and the track was dry…just kinda missed where we wanted to be all weekend with qualifying.
In Charlotte, the ‘D4′ team would finish 15th with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Holtgraver battled for a top 10 position during the televised event but would make contact with another car while racing for position. The former Lernerville Speedway Track Champion would settle for a top 15 finish at the conclusion of the 30 lap event. Things would then turn around for the Alternative Power Sources ‘D4′ 410 sprint car during the remainder of the weekend; turning two consecutive top 12 finishes with the All-Star Circuit of Champions at Fremont Speedway, after starting from the 10th row each evening. Holtgraver would charge from a 19th place starting spot to finish 11th on Saturday night at Fremont Speedway with the All-Stars. The full-time ‘Ohio Region’ competitor then repeated his hard charging effort Sunday night, and rallied from a 20th place starting spot to finish 7th during the $10,000-to-win All-Star finale at Fremont. The 13 position charge was good enough to make Holtgraver the ‘Hard Charger’ of the evening; passing the most cars during the 50 lap All-Star feature.
“We were pretty happy with our weekend” said Holtgraver, “Just some things here and there we need to work on and obviously had some bad luck with our pill drawings but other than that, we are pretty happy and hopefully we can make it out for the Outlaw events this weekend”
With two more All-Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ and ‘National’ events in the books, Holtgraver now finds himself 3rd in the ‘Ohio Region’ point standings, while climbing to 8th in the All-Star Circuit of Champions ‘National’ point standings. Holtgraver is roughly 40 markers behind former Knoxville Nationals Champion, Tim Shaffer, for the runner-up spot in the ‘Ohio Region’ standings.
Up next for Danny Holtgraver will be a pair of World of Outlaws events in the Great Lakes region. The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series will be visiting Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio on Friday, June 1st. After their one night program at Attica, ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt” will visit I-96 Raceway in Lake Odessa, Michigan. The entire ‘D4′ team plans to make the trip to Northwestern Ohio and Southern Michigan for the ‘Outlaw’ weekend.

The fifth place finish also continues Schaeffer’s impressive streak of only finishing outside the top five once in 2012 at the Sarver oval. The former 3-time Lernerville Speedway track champion has one win to his credit thus far in 2012 at the prestigious venue, and looks to capture a few more before his last season is ’410′ sprint car competition is complete. Adam Kekich at Fremont Speedway – Rick Rarer Photo
Hermitage, Pennsylvania native and Fully Injected teammate, Adam Kekich, spend the Memorial Day weekend at Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio with the All-Star Circuit of Champions. The third generation driver and former limited sprint car graduate qualified for Saturday night’s $3,000-to-win, All-Star Circuit of Champions, 30 lap main event and finished inside the top 20 in the running order. Kekich had to make the show the hard way; missing a transfer spot in his respective heat race and having to race his way through the evening’s consolation B-main. The young man would finish 3rd in the consolation and qualify for the main event. Kekich would be scored in the 18th position at the conclusion of the 30 lap feature.
The familiar ’5K’ would fail to qualify for the Sunday night, $10,000-to-win, All-Star Circuit of Champions weekend finale at Fremont Speedway. Kekich would finish 7th in the consolation B-main ending his night.
