ST. HELENA, Calif. (October 14, 2019) – St. Helena, California’s Rico Abreu has been a man on a mission during the late stages of his 2019 season, and with Keller Auto Speedway’s annual Cotton Classic officially chalked up on Abreu’s victory list, his season win total now stands at nine, three of which occurring in consecutive fashion.

Abreu, driver of the Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing/Abreu Vineyards/Curb Records/Golden State Restaurant Group/Lucas Oil Products/Southern Pacific Farms/Priority Aviation/Self Made Racing/Dancer Logistics/No. 24 sprint car, earned Saturday’s 34th Annual Cotton Classic in convincing fashion, eventually taking command from Mitchell Faccinto during a battle in traffic on lap ten. The move around Faccinto not only solidified Abreu’s $3,000 payday, but also a third King of the West-NARC victory in 2019.

“Things are just clicking right now and it feels great,” Rico Abreu said, who swept MOWA action in Illinois before adding the 2019 Cotton Classic victory to his resume. “I just can’t say enough about this team right now. We went through some changes recently, but we stayed focused and kept working hard. We are having a lot of fun right now and it’s showing.”

Rico Abreu will continue his 2019 campaign with the three-day Trophy Cup at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, California. Trophy Cup competition will begin on Thursday evening, October 17, and extend through Saturday, October 19.

The 360 sprint car showcase will award $4,000 top prizes during all three nights of main event action, as well as a $13,000 share to the overall Trophy Cup champion. The champion will be determined as the result of points accumulated during all three nights of action.

Jac Haudenschild, who will enter Trophy Cup competition in 2019 under the Rico Abreu Racing umbrella, is the defending Trophy Cup champion.
