Port Royal – The total dollar value of Saturday’s contingency cash and prizes for sprint car racers at Saturdays Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway continues to increase.

The most recent additions to the stockpile of prizes up for grabs is a complete set of shocks from Penske Shocks and gift certificates from Sander Engineering, which pushes the total value to some $8,000

Already in the pile of product certificates and/or discounts to be given out are $50 vouchers towards Zemco Headers, $200 vouchers for RE Technologies, $125 vouchers for Moose Blocks, $100 vouchers for DMI, $200 vouchers for VRP Shocks, free Keizer Wheels, free racing fuel, free Mach 1 Chassis bumpers and nerf bars, discount vouchers for Wings Unlimited and free engine dynos from Rider and Ott Racing Engines.

Cash on the line includes $20 per lap in the twin 16-lap semi mains and the 30-lap Dream A Main courtesy of RE Davidson & Son, HF Campbell & Son Trucking and River Valley Builders.

Plus, there’s a $300 A Main Hoseheads Hard Charger Award and $150 courtesy of Terry Ritzman for each of the first and second fastest times in qualifications, which earns the poles for the twin semi mains.

Impressive and up for grabs by drivers is also nearly $53,000 in prize money alone.

Interesting and exciting for fans is a new format for the race that will produce exciting racing during what will essentially be four main events for the sprint cars.

There will be twin 16-lap semi features with full payouts posted before the 30-lap Dream A Main that carries a purse of nearly $34,000 alone, plus a B Main.  The semi mains will pay $2,000 to win.

A 25th starter will be added to the Dream A out of the B Main finishers who fail to qualify and all the fans will determine who gets the nod via a fan vote of cheers.

Port Royal is the only track in action with the 410 sprint cars this Saturday night.

Lynn Paxton and Al Hamilton will be honored as Living Legends this season and will take part in a pre-race autograph session along with Hamilton pilots Greg Hodnett, Lance Dewease, Keith Kauffman and Aaron Ott.  Fred Rahmer is also hoping to be on hand.

Paxton car owner Maynard Boop will be there as well.
