Brent Marks earns podium finish during visit to Cedar Lake; Brad Doty Classic and Kings Royal ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (July 9, 2018) – A track that was certainly not kind to the “Myerstown Missile” in 2017, Brent Marks turned everything around during the recent weekend and transformed his two-day visit to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis., into a success story, earning one podium finish in the process, nearly capturing his second victory of the 2018 season.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car, highlighted his weekend trek to the Badger State with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series with a third place finish on Friday, July 6; his fourth top-five finish of the 2018 season. The second-year, full-time traveler kicked-off his evening with a runner-up finish during his respective heat race, finishing third during the evening’s dash shortly thereafter.

Although unable to repeat inside the top-five, Marks’ performance on Saturday at Cedar Lake Speedway was just as impressive, forced to manhandle an ill-handling race car after breaking the air pressure stem in the right rear tire. The “Myerstown Missile” held on strong to cross under the final checkers 11th; exactly where he started.

“It was a consistent weekend, to say the least. I’m proud of my team. The top-fives and top-tens keep coming and that’s a great feeling. We highlighted our trip to Cedar Lake last year with an 18th place finish. This year, we finished on the podium and just outside of the top-ten. That’s one hell of a turnaround,” Brent Marks said, a second-year traveler with the Greatest Show On Dirt. “I’m excited to head back toward Pennsylvania. We have a big stretch of high paying races coming up. I think we have what it takes to be up front.”

Brent Marks will continue his 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series campaign with a full week of action in the Buckeye State, first visiting Attica Raceway Park for the Brad Doty Classic on Tuesday, July 10.

Following his invasion of Attica, Brent Marks will visit Eldora Speedway in Rossburg for the 35th running of the prestigious Kings Royal. Certainly a crown jewel of sprint car racing, the three-day Kings Royal, taking over Eldora headlines on July 12-14, will award a $50,000 payday during the weekend finale on Saturday, July 14.
