Brent Marks Earns Top-Ten During Knoxville Nationals Prelim, Loaded Weekend Ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, PA (August 15, 2016) – Central Pennsylvania’s Brent Marks returned home to Myerstown on Sunday afternoon with four major events logged during the last two weekends, visiting areas of Missouri and Iowa between August 5 and August 13. The “Myerstown Missile” recorded two top-ten performances during his travels across the Mississippi River, each during action at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

“We had a great trip. A few of the results weren’t what we were looking for, but we made up for it with a few top-ten runs,” Marks explained. “I can’t thank my team enough for their help the last two weeks. It is definitely not easy to travel like that. The heat was brutal most of the trip, but they stayed focused and kept working hard. I can’t thank my supporters and sponsors enough for their dedication, as well. If it wasn’t for them, the trip wouldn’t have happened. We’re proud to represent everyone on the car at the highest level possible.”

Brent Marks earned his first top-ten finish of the last ten days during the annual Capitani Classic at the Knoxville Raceway on Sunday, August 7, finishing fifth during feature competition after starting ninth. His second top-ten feature finish of the near-two week journey occurred during Knoxville Nationals preliminary competition on Thursday night, August 11. The sixth place performance was solid enough to lock Marks into the Saturday night B-main where he would finish 11th, just six spots shy of an A-main transfer position, still bettering most of the 107 cars entered during the course of the Nationals weekend.

Other results during his ten day road trip include finishing 20th against the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the Ironman 55 in Pevely, Missouri, as well as 18th during the National Sprint League sanctioned Front Row Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa; each officially scored as “DNF.”

Up next on the schedule is a four-pack of programs in Central Pennsylvania, including three with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. Marks will join the Arctic Cat All Stars on Thursday through Saturday, August 18-20, at Grandview Speedway, Williams Grove Speedway, and Lincoln Speedway, all before capping off a busy weekend stretch at the Susquehanna Speedway on Sunday, August 21. All four programs will award a $5,000 top prize. Marks will enter the weekend with two victories on the season, one at Port Royal Speedway and one at the Trail-Way Speedway.

“We have a lot to prepare for with a short time to do it, but that is what we live for,” Marks said. “It should be an exciting weekend for us as a team. We have some momentum behind us from the last two weekends. I want to use that to our advantage and get the ‘19M’ up front.”
