Brent Marks earns top-ten finish during action at Skagit Speedway; Oregon and California starts next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (September 4, 2018) – Brent Marks’ trip west with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series has been successful from the start, continuously adding checks in the top-ten column. Labor Day weekend was nothing different for the Myerstown, Pa., native, highlighting his three-race/four-day stretch in the state of Washington with a sixth place finish at Skagit Speedway on Saturday, September 1. The top-ten was Marks’ 24th of the 2018 season with the Greatest Show On Dirt as he continues to maintain the ninth position in the championship standings.

Marks opened his Outlaw Energy Showdown campaign at Skagit Speedway with a result just outside of the top-ten on Friday, August 31; finishing 11th, officially, after starting ninth on the feature grid. Speaking of consistency, Marks earned his way into the pair of Outlaw Energy Showdown main events by finishing third during each of his respective heat races.

Unfortunately, Marks was unable to transfer his consistency from Skagit Speedway to Grays Harbor Raceway where the World of Outlaws visited on Monday, September 2. Contact with a fellow competitor during main event action forced Marks to retire with just five laps complete.

“We enjoyed our visit to Skagit Speedway. I wish I could say the same for Grays Harbor Raceway,” Brent Marks said, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/Buckwalter Trucking/No. 19 sprint car. “This entire west coast swing has been enjoyable for the most part. Besides a few hiccups here and there, we’ve been able to put together some solid finishes. I’m proud of this team and i’m proud of their efforts. It’s definitely not easy being out here on the road week after week. They do a great job and keep this team race-ready.”

With action in the Evergreen State complete, Brent Marks will turn his focus south and begin the trek to Northern California, first making a stop in Lebanon, Ore., where the World of Outlaws will compete at Willamette Speedway on Wednesday, September 5. The World of Outlaws will then invade Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, Calif., for the Gold Cup Race of Champions on Friday and Saturday, September 7 & 8.
