Brent Marks reflects on successful season with Greatest Show On Dirt; WoO-bound again in 2019

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (November 10, 2018) – The ‘Myerstown Missile’ Brent Marks certainly padded his racing resume during his 2018 campaign, not only completing another grueling, 10-month stretch on the road with the Greatest Show On Dirt, but also accomplishing the ultimate feat of beating the best in the world – three times.

Marks, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/Buckwalter Trucking/No. 19 sprint car, ended his 2018 World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series schedule with World Finals competition at the Dirt Track at Charlotte, ultimately qualifying for each of the contested main events and highlighting the weekend with a 20th place performance during the Friday night A-main (contested on Saturday afternoon due to weather conflicts on Friday).

Despite a middle-of-the-road finish to his season, still bettering over half of the 50+ entrants signed in at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, Marks’ 2018 campaign was an overall success story, accumulating three victories with the World of Outlaws, one of which at the World’s Greatest Dirt Track, Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, during the coveted 4-Crown Nationals weekend. It was Mark’s first-ever win at the prestigious half-mile and he did so in dramatic fashion; taking command with just seven laps remaining.

Including his trio of triumphs, Marks earned a total of 29 top-ten finishes with the traveling Outlaws, seven of which inside the top-five.

Impressive enough, Marks was able to attain much of success with just one crew member, Jesse Lentz. Dallas Schott joined Brent Marks Racing just after Marks earned his first win of the season during action in Wilmot, Wis., followed by the addition of crew chief, Jim Shuttlesworth, who stepped-in just before the Knoxville Nationals.

“I can’t say enough about my team and the effort put forth. Jessie and I were on our own for the first half of the season, but we were fortunate enough to add some people later in the year and it proved to be very beneficial. I can’t thank everyone enough for their hard work,” Brent Marks explained, who earned an Outlaws victory at Weedsport Speedway in addition to his wins at Wilmot and Eldora. “I wouldn’t be in this position without my family and all of my dedicated partners. It takes a lot of parts to make a race team go up and down the highway, not to mention be capable of winning. I’m privileged to be in this position.”

Brent Marks and Brent Marks Racing will return to the road full-time in 2019. Updates, including the potential for new and returning marketing partners, will be released in the near-future.

“We are hard at work getting ready for next season. If you think about it, the off-season isn’t much of an off-season. We’ll be on our way to Florida soon enough,” Marks continued. “The next few months will be busy, but we are more motivated than ever.”
