“Chris & Brian Faria Memorial Weekend”
Tulare, California – Saturday & Sunday May 25 & 26
What:
With six rounds complete in the 2013 racing season the King of the West 410 Sprint Car Series will charge into its first outing of the year in the Central Valley this coming Memorial Day Weekend at Merle Stone Chevrolet Thunderbowl Raceway. The double-header event on Saturday & Sunday May 25 & 26 will pay tribute to brothers Chris & Brian Faria, who both lost their lives far too soon.
Chris Faria was an up and coming driver who was the youngest of five children to Danny Sr. & Arlet Faria. He grew up on their farm in Tipton and was known as the prankster of the family. Chris unfortunately lost his life at the age of 21 during a farming accident and his memory has been kept alive with a memorial race at the Thunderbowl Raceway ever since.

While a couple of low qualifying spots put Rose behind from the start each night, his arm felt normal during the latest test.
“Actually the arm feels great,” he said. “It doesn’t hurt at all. I was kind of curious about how it was going to work at Lincoln, but it feels great.”

Defending Champs Jared Miley and Corey McPherson victorious
King family goes three for three in heat race victories
Sarver, PA (May 17, 2013) On a perfect, summerlike night, All Time division wins leaders Brian Swartzlander (Diehl Mods) and Ed Lynch Jr. (Peoples TWP Sprints) added to their Hall of Fame resumes with career feature wins #78 and #106 respectively. And while it’s early to start talking about Hall of Fame credentials for Jared Miley (Precise Lates) and Corey McPherson (Pic-A-Part Sportsman), both Defending Track Champions scored dominant feature wins tonight. The “Kings of Racing” Rex King Sr., Rex King Jr. and Russell King all scored heat race wins tonight; a feat which had most likely never been accomplished! Surely there were nights when both Bob Wearing Sr. & Jr. won heats or Lou & Dale Blaney, but nobody in the press box could a recall a father and two son heat race win sweep!
