Chase Dietz Sets Aim at Dirt Classic

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

YORK, PA (September 22, 2016) – A $20,000 potential sits ahead for Chase Dietz and car owner Troy Godfrey, as the duo prepare for the Third Annual Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, September 24.

The Dirt Classic, which will utilize a unique format and lineup procedure, will award a $20,000 top prize and a minimum of $1,000 to every main event starter. As a former Lincoln Speedway winner, Chase Dietz is excited for the opportunity to compete in one of the nation’s largest, single day events, working to outdo his result from 2015.

“This race has really worked up the list,” Chase Dietz explained. “Everyone wants to win this deal. It has a really neat format that helps stir up the competition. We finished 16th in this race last year, so our goal this year is to better that result and hopefully work our way to the front. We’ve been successful at Lincoln Speedway before. Winning a race like this would be a total game changer.”

Before entering Lincoln Speedway’s gates on Saturday afternoon, Chase Dietz and the Troy Godfrey-owned/Godfrey Racing Engines/No. 5 entry will pay a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg for the annual National Open Tune-Up. The Tune-Up, set for Friday evening, September 23, will feature an entire World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series format, giving Pennsylvania Posse hopefuls, like Chase Dietz, an opportunity to test and tune, as well as time trial, before the Champion Racing Oil National Open on Thursday through Saturday, September 29 – October 1.

“I can’t thank Troy, my family, and all of my supporters enough for their help and support this season,” Dietz said. “We had a little bit of a rocky start before transitioning to our own team. Troy Godfrey gave me a great opportunity to race for him these last few months and we are having a blast. We’re anxious to get the upcoming weekend rolling.”

Chase Dietz finished 15th during his most recent Williams Grove Speedway start on September 16.

“Not the result we were looking for, but we’re learning. We figured out a few things that we were doing wrong. We’ll put our knowledge to work this weekend.”
