Colton Flinner Ends Florida Trip with Top 10 at East Bay

Allison Park, PA (February 3rd, 2013) – Colton Flinner ended his three day mini-vacation in Tampa, Florida last evening with a top ten finish at East Bay Raceway Park during the annual ‘Winternationals’ program. The Allison Park, Pennsylvania native finished 8th in the FASTRAK Late Model main event on Saturday evening, February 2nd; rallying from the outside of row number eight (16th) to finish solidly inside the top ten. The 40 lap ‘Winternationals’ finale for the FASTRAK Late Models paid $3,000 to the winner with Mark Whitner earning the victory. The top ten performance by Colton Flinner on Saturday evening was the ’75’ team’s best performance of the weekend; topping Thursday night’s 12th place finish, and Friday night’s 25th place finish. The two-time and defending Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway FASTRAK/Pro-Late Model track champion will return to Western Pennsylvania with high hopes for the rest of the season.
“It’s been a really great weekend” expressed Flinner, “The first two nights really didn’t go our way because of our involvement in some wrecks but we battled back…we had a fast car all weekend and to finish the weekend with a top 10 really boosts our confidence…this was a great start to our season and we are already excited to get back to action next month in Georgia…I just can’t thank everyone who is involved enough…it’s been a blast in Florida.”
Colton Flinner will return to action in the month of March for a second swing of ‘southern exposure.’ The familiar American Framers/VOX Energy ’75’ team will travel to The Peach State for a FASTRAK event in early March. Plans regarding the Georgia road trip will be released in the near future.
“Florida was a great learning experience for our team and a great way to kick-off the 2013 season” said Flinner, “I can’t thank everyone enough…I especially need to thank Mike Farr from Genesis Shocks…he was a ton of help this weekend!”
