Cory Haas Captures Kimmel Memorial; Tuscarora 50 Next!
First Port Royal Appearance In Nearly Five Years

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

York, PA (September 9, 2015) –  For the first time in nearly five years, Cory Haas will enter competition at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania. The recent “Billy Kimmel Memorial” winner at Williams Grove Speedway will make the near 90 minute trek north from his York, Pennsylvania home and participate in the annual Tuscarora weekend at Port Royal’s half-mile, featuring back-to-back UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions programs. The pilot of the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., #11C has been on a recent hot streak in central Pennsylvania, earning three consecutive top-ten finishes at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, including a victory on Sunday, September 6. Cory Haas hopes to keep that success alive this weekend and claim a large chunk of the $71,000 purse up for grabs during the UNOH All Star doubleheader.

“I think the last time we were at Port Royal is 2010 or 2011…I honestly can’t remember” said Cory Haas, “We are definitely due for a trip back up there. Things have been going pretty well for us lately. We’ve been strong the last month…finding speed where we had some problems before. Really happy to get a win last week. I have a lot of great people who help out with this race team and a lot of great supporters who keep us going up and down the road. I’m happy to get a win for them.”

The “Tuscarora 50” weekend at Port Royal Speedway will ignite on Friday evening, September 11, with the “Night Before The 50” worth $5,000. Action resumes on Saturday, September 12, with the 50-lap, $12,000-to-win, “Tuscarora 50” main event. Each evening will feature a full racing program.

Cory Haas earned a victory during his most recent main even start; capturing the “Billy Kimmel Memorial” at Williams Grove Speedway on Sunday, September 6. Haas made the winning move with less than two laps remaining, surging ahead for a sixth-career Williams Grove Speedway victory and his first of the 2015 season. The former Williams Grove Speedway “358” champ actually swept the “Billy Kimmel Memorial” program, winning his respective heat race before claiming the $3,800 top prize.

“We’ve had other opportunities to win this season” explained Haas, “Just had a lot of tough luck keeping that from happening. We don’t have a ton of experience at Port Royal, but we’ll work as hard as we can to get another win.”
