Danny Dietrich Earns Top-Ten During Lincoln Icebreaker
Will Return to Lincoln on March 5

GETTYSBURG, PA (February 29, 2016) – Danny Dietrich and Gary Kauffman Racing made the most of their 2016 debut; earning a top-ten finish against a stout field of Central Pennsylvania competitors during Lincoln Speedway’s annual Icebreaker 30 on Sunday, February 28. The former Lincoln Speedway 410 track champion officially finished ninth during the $4,000-to-win showcase, charging forward from a twelfth row starting position.
“Not the day we wanted, but we still have a lot to learn about this new car” Danny Dietrich explained, “We still have some things to adjust, but we now have a better idea where we need to be. Feels great to be back in a race car. The Icebreaker is an awesome event and a perfect way to get the season started. I want to thank my crew and all of those involved for their support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without dedicated help and the loyal support from our fan base.”
After a DNF during heat race competition due to mechanical misfortune, Dietrich would be forced to start 23rd on the Icebreaker 30 feature grid. Despite additional problems during the 30-lap main event, including contact with the inside guardrail during the opening circuits, “Double-D” would persevere and advance 14 positions to solidify himself inside the top-ten, equalling his 2015 Icebreaker 30 performance. There were 24 cars entered.
Danny Dietrich and the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, No. 48 team will continue their 2016 campaign on Saturday afternoon, March 5, back in the Pigeon Hills. Lincoln Speedway will once again utilize an afternoon starting time, with racing set to kick-off at 2 PM.
