Danny Dietrich scores runner-up finish during Port Royal’s Dream Race; Ironman 55 next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (July 31, 2018) – Once again, Danny Dietrich is heading west during the early weeks of August, anxious to join the Greatest Show On Dirt during starts in Missouri and Iowa, first visiting the Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., on Friday and Saturday, August 3 & 4. Known as the Ironman 55, the 2018 edition will feature back-to-back full programs awarding $20,000 to the main event winners. Each feature will be 55 laps in distance.

“I’m excited to get back to Pevely. It should be a lot of fun,” Danny Dietrich explained, driver of the Gary Kauffman Racing/Weikert’s Livestock/Sandoe’s Fruit Market/Pace Performance/Gsell’s Whitetails/Hickory Run Orchards/Drop Of Ink Tattoo/Sweeney Cars/Self Made/No. 48 sprint car. “We don’t get to race on many ovals shaped like I-55. Hopefully we can make good things happen during our trip west. A few, good starts in Pevely would give us some positive momentum heading into the Nationals.”

Danny Dietrich’s trip west will ultimately end with Knoxville Nationals competition at the Sprint Car Capital of the World – Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa.

Recent results for “Double-D” include finishing second during the annual Living Legends Dream Race at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, July 28. Dietrich led a portion of the $10,000-to-win program before giving up the top spot to eventual winner, Lance Dewease, on lap 12. Forced to battle with Brock Zearfoss for one of two remaining podium positions, Dietrich hung on to claim second at the final checkers, followed by Zearfoss. The podium finish bumped Dietrich’s top-five count to 24 on the season.
