Danny Holtgraver Anxious for Western PA All Star Visit
Phoenix Racing Will Invade Lernerville and Mercer This Friday and Saturday

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

Pittsburgh, PA (April 28th, 2015) – After spending the most recent weekend racing in the central parts of Pennsylvania, Danny Holtgraver will finally have the opportunity to return ‘home’ and race in his half of the state as the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions set to invade two western Pennsylvania venues for back-to-back $5,000-to-win events. Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing will join the All Star Circuit of Champions this Friday and Saturday, May 1st & 2nd during scheduled visits to the Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park; tracks where Holtgraver has been successful at on multiple occasions. Holtgraver will enter the Lernerville/Mercer weekend fifth in the current All Star Circuit of Champions point standings.

“It’s always nice to race close to home” said Holtgraver, “We love to travel, but getting to race close to home in front of all of your friends and family is really special…I’ve always enjoyed racing at Lernerville and Mercer…I’ve had success at each place in the past so hopefully we can repeat that this weekend…Tom and Sherry Leidig gave me a great opportunity…everyone involved with this team works hard and deserves a win…we’ll head to both tracks this weekend with that mentality and work as hard as we can to get up front.”

The All Star Circuit of Champions weekend in western Pennsylvania will kick-off with action at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, May 1st. Holtgraver, who pilots the Phoenix Racing, Bonnell’s Rod Shop, DKW Transport, Auto Electric of Jupiter, Florida, Southern Pacific Farms, no. 59 ‘410’ sprint car, is a former All Star feature winner at the Sarver oval, and a former track champion; earning the sprint car title in 2010. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native earned two wins at Lernerville in 2014.

After a visit to the Lernerville Speedway on Friday evening, May 1st, the All Star Circuit of Champions will make a short trip north to the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, May 2nd. Just like at Lernerville Speedway, Danny Holtgraver is a multi-time feature winner at the Mercer bullring, as well as a former All Star Circuit of Champions main event winner. Holtgraver will work towards a weekend sweep this Friday and Saturday; something that he has accomplished in the past.

During recent All Star Circuit of Champions competition, Danny Holtgraver and Phoenix Racing recorded an eleventh place performance at the Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 25th; during the $15,000-to-win Bob Weikert Memorial. Unfortunately, the ‘59’ team had to settle for a ‘DNF’ on Friday evening, April 24th at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania after leading the first fifteen laps of the 30-lap main event.

“We had a pretty good run at Port Royal…we were happy with how we ended up” said Holtgraver, “We were even better at Williams Grove, but had to pull off early…I felt a real bad vibration while out front and it kept getting worse…I didn’t want to chance hurting anything so I pulled in and didn’t finish…we were good all night at Williams Grove…timed in a perfect position and we ended up winning our heat race and dash…put us on the pole for the feature and stayed out front for the first half of the race…we were a little disappointed but we’ll move forward.”

The Phoenix Racing ‘59’ team also made an appearance at the Path Valley Speedway Park near Spring Run, Pennsylvania on Sunday evening, April 26th; taking part in the ‘Party At The Path’ by Fred Rahmer Promotions. After finishing second during heat race competition to automatically qualify for the 40-lap/$5,000-to-win main event, Holtgraver would go on to record a ninth place finish.
