Dietrich Earns Victory at Susquehanna, Runner-Up During Dirt Classic, National Open Ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

GETTYSBURG, PA (September 26, 2016) – For the eighth time in 2016 and for the second time at Susquehanna Speedway, Danny Dietrich is a main event winner, this time earning Justin Snyder’s “Salute to the Troops” victory for a $5,000 top prize. The emotional victory kicked off a three-race campaign for the Gettysburg native during the recent weekend, resulting in one additional podium finish during the Third Annual Dirt Classic on Saturday night, September 24. Dietrich’s victory at Susquehanna on September 22, and his runner-up finish at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway two evenings later, created a perfect blend of momentum, which will prove to be beneficial this Thursday through Saturday.

“Winning that event at Susquehanna was really emotional for our team,” Dietrich explained. “Justin Snyder was a friend of mine; a friend of this entire team. Losing him was a real shock for all of us. For Susquehanna to honor him and his family says a lot about the racing community. We wanted to win that deal for him and that is exactly what we did. We’ll move on now and try to win the National Open. That’s our goal.”

The 54th Annual Champion Racing Oil National Open at Williams Grove Speedway, featuring the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series, will take over the Central Pennsylvania sprint car scene on Thursday through Saturday, September 29 – October 1, complete with two, full preliminary programs and the $50,000 finale. Danny Dietrich, pilot of the Gary Kauffman Racing, Sandoe’s Fruit Market, Hickory Run Orchards, Weikert’s Livestock, Carlisle Auto Salvage, CATS Used Truck Parts, No. 48 entry, will join the Pennsylvania Posse during the World of Outlaws invasion; the final World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series visit to Williams Grove Speedway in 2016.

Danny Dietrich will enter the National Open triple-header with one victory at “The Grove” in 2016. “Double-D” finished sixth during the 2015 National Open after starting on the front row.

“This is the big one. This is the one everyone wants,” Dietrich said. “This is one of the most competitive events of the year – not just in Pennsylvania, but in the entire country. We have some momentum on our side after winning less than a week ago. I think we have a great opportunity to upset the Outlaws and earn the $50,000. I can’t thank my team enough for all that they do. I say the same thing every week, but they make this all possible. Them and my car owner and major supporters. We’ve had a really fun year. Planning for the National Open is really bitter-sweet.”
