The USAC Benevolent Foundation announced today a matching, dollar-for-dollar grant for a Charlie Dean Leffler Educational Fund.

In making the announcement, Bill Marvel, Executive Director of the 501-3c designated Foundation, explained: “After serious consideration, the Board of Directors of the Benevolent Foundation decided that a Matching Dollar Grant offer be utilized exclusively for the future educational needs of Charlie Dean, Jason Leffler’s five year old son.”

Marvel continued: “To insure a sum that will assist Charlie’s future educational needs, the Foundation’s Board of Directors announced that for every dollar donated to Charlie’s future education, the Foundation will match it, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000. When it reaches the $25,000 it will be then combined to the Foundation’s match and will increase the Fund Grant to $50,000. All donations received, including those received after the possible $50,000 matching Fund Grant is reached, will be ear marked for Charlie’s educational needs, aside from provisions established by Jason.”

Charlie’s mother, Alison Leffler, when informed of the Foundation’s forthcoming grant, said: “I am deeply touched that you have set up a college fund for Charlie through the USAC Benevolent Foundation.”

Earlier today, Harry Scott Jr., co-owner of Turner Scott Motorsports and one of three Trustees of the Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust, released a statement regarding the two separate funds that have been started for Jason Leffler’s son, Charlie. We would like to reiterate Mr. Scott’s statement indicating that everyone at the USAC Benevolent Foundation is going to work with everyone associated with the Charlie Dean Leffler Discretionary Trust to ensure that all monies raised, regardless of which fund they come through, go directly to caring for Charlie Dean Leffler and his needs. We are all working together towards the goal of providing for Charlie’s future. We all want to make sure that Charlie is well taken care of and that Jason’s love for him is always evident.

Donations for the Educational Grant Fund can be easily made on Pay Pal by logging onto the USAC WebSite at www.usacracing.com, scrolling down the right side, clicking on the “Donate” button under Jason’s name and following the prompts.

All contributions earmarked for the Charlie Dean Leffler Educational Fund, may be directed to the USAC Benevolent Foundation, c/o Executive Director Bill Marvel, 4910 W. 16th Street Speedway, Speedway, Ind. 46224. Bill may be reached at 859-749-0646 or atbillmarvel@gmail.com. Donations should be earmarked for this program.

June 18, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)…After the first four events were scattered throughout the first couple months of the racing season, things are about to heat up for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Touring Series! Three events are on tap this weekend as a busy summer and fall season is about to kick into high gear. The “Mid-Atlantic Triple Crown” presented by RainEater Wiper Blades will feature Touring events this Friday-Sunday (June 21-23) at Hagerstown Speedway, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex, and The Rock – Allegany County Speedway.

Each night this weekend will pay $2,000 to-win and offer important points toward not only the Touring Series Championships, but also allow competitors to garner points for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Weekly Series Championship and “Futures Cup” for those eligible racers. It’ll be races #5-7 on the 27-race Tour schedule. The point champion of the three-night swing will receive a beautiful trophy cup and a TurboStart 16-volt racing battery valued at $252!

“We’re really excited about this weekend,” acknowledged RUSH Series Co-Director Vicki Emig. “The first Hagerstown event was tremendous and drew a lot of excitement and interest from throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, and we’re really looking forward to going back. We can’t thank Lisa Plessinger of Hagerstown enough for having the faith in our Series. And we can’t forget Rick Jones, who really stepped up for us this year at Roaring Knob and The Rock in our inaugural season. Rick tied this weekend together giving racers the opportunity to run for $2,000 to-win all weekend!”

Hagerstown marks a return to the “Capitol of Dirt Track Racing” where history was made when the first RUSH Touring Series event took place on April 20. The fabulous non-stop 30-lap affair was won by Rick Singleton as he was one of the few racers who has had actually turned laps at Hagerstown before. A strong field of 36 cars was present for the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC opening event.

Since then, great racing has continued with Mike Pegher, Jr. victorious at Sharon Speedway on May 25, West Virginia’s Ryan Montgomery came back from a trashed race car to win the following night at Sharon, and most recently New Yorker Bryce Davis won last Friday’s show at McKean County Raceway.

With everything totaled up after four events, Singleton has a nine-point lead on Pegher as he’s yet to finish worse than fourth in any of the four events! Finksburg, Maryland racer Glenn Elliott, who finished runner-up at Hagerstown, had the point lead heading into McKean, but a 12th place finish dropped him to third in the standings. Fourth and fifth are Montgomery and Joe Martin, who’s looking for redemption after seeing a dominating run at McKean go to waste when he got into the wall with less than four laps to go.

Sixth through 15th in the points paying standings are Chad Ruhlman, John Over, Butch Lambert, Canadian Jorden Peters, Ohio female teen Lauren Longbrake, Josh Holtgraver, Josh Double, Matt Latta, Maryland racer Matt Glanden, and Shane Weaver.

With the April 19 show at Roaring Knob being rained out and rescheduled to July 28, Saturday’s show at The Knob will mark the first of five Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series events at the Markleysburg, Pa. oval. All of the Knob events this season will pay a minimum of $2,000 to-win and will use the qualifying event format!

Saturday will also be one of the K&N Filters “Cold Air Induction” fan giveaways. This system for personal vehicles is valued at up to $500! One lucky fan will leave the Knob with this great prize!

Sunday’s race at The Rock will mark just the second ever Crate Late Model race held at the Allegany County Fairground oval. The Rock held a Sweeney Weekly Series event on April 21 the day after Hagerstown won by Rick Singleton- since then the Cumberland, Maryland oval has been plagued by inclement weather.

The Bobby Lake Motorsports “Shock the Clock & Beat the Heat” Quick Cash programs will be in effect with $100 going to the fast qualifier and $25 to the heat race winners.

The K&N “Cold Air Induction” Dash will be run each night determining the beginning of the feature lineup; it’ll award $100 K&N certificate for the win, $50 certificate for second with $25 cash to all other starters. Chad McClellan, Chad Ruhlman, Glenn Elliott, and Doug Ricotta have picked up the victories so far. Elliott is the K&N point leader.

Other programs taking place this weekend will be the Precise Racing Products “Pedal Down Hard Charger” as the driver that passes the most cars in the feature will receive $100 Precise certificate. RUSH Officials will choose The Brake Man “Tough Brake of the Night” each night as this driver will receive three bottles of Xtreme6 Racing Brake Fluid valued at approximately $45 along with a certificate good for either $50 off of a purchase of $100 or more or 20% off any The Brake Man purchase.

The “Wheelman” Bonus Event Challenge Series will be held for drivers failing to qualify for the feature each night paying $175 to-win, $105 to-start. Randy Wible won the opening event at Hagerstown, Russell Baird, Jr. and Mike Anderson won the Sharon races, and Matt Harvey won at McKean. Jamie Brown is the current point leader.

Feature payoff for each night: 1. $2,000 2. $1,000 3. $650 4. $550 5. $470 6. $435 7. $410 8. $370 9. $340 10. $310 11. $280 12. $270 13. $260 14. $250 15. $240 16. $230 17. $220 18-24. $210.

Inside Line Promotions – FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (June 18, 2013) – The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series will make its inaugural visit to a facility for the fourth time this season on Saturday at I-94 Speedway as part of the Gerdau Northern Tour.

“It kinda evens out the field a little bit,” Chad Kemenah said. “Somebody hasn’t raced there 20 or 30 times. Everyone goes there and tries to compare it to a race track they’ve been to that is somewhat close.”

Minnesota native Craig Dollansky hasn’t competed at the 3/8-mile track, but said he watched a race a couple of years ago.

“I have seen it and it’s a beautiful facility,” he said.

Five-time series champion Donny Schatz, who has claimed the last two World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series events, said that he has raced at I-94 Speedway when he was beginning his racing career.

“Not since about 1993 or 1994,” he said. “That’s 20 years since I’ve been there. I remember it being a nice facility then. It had a pretty good bank to it and there was a lot of excitement for sure. I hear a lot of good things about it from the racers who race stock cars up here.”

NASCAR sensation Kyle Larson, 20-time series champion Steve Kinser and Tim Kaeding have each picked up a victory in the previous World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series inaugural races at a track this season.

LaSalle Speedway Hosts World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series on June 28

Inside Line Promotions – LaSALLE, Ill. (June 17, 2013) – Although he hasn’t spent much time competing at LaSalle Speedway, Joey Saldana looks forward to the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series return on Friday, June 28.

Saldana, who is in search of his first victory of the season, claimed the 2010 event – the last time the premier sprint car series visited the quarter-mile oval.

“I never really raced there much, but it’s pretty similar to a lot of the track that I grew up at,” he said. “It produces very good, close racing.”

Saldana and Paul McMahan put on a thrilling show during the 2010 race. McMahan led the first 21 laps as Saldana worked forward from his sixth starting position. On a restart on Lap 22, Saldana powered to the lead around the high groove and maintained the lead through traffic to earn his first career win at LaSalle Speedway.

“It’s definitely one of those tracks that you get after it,” he said. “Lapped traffic plays a big part of it.”

Saldana is one of seven winners in the eighth World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races at LaSalle Speedway. Steve Kinser, a 20-time series champion, is the only driver to record multiple victories.

Dave Blaney, Sammy Swindell, Mark Kinser, Stevie Smith and Danny Lasoski also each have one win at the high-banked track.

TICKETS -

Reserved combo tickets, which including a pit pass along with a reserved seat, are available for a unique price when purchased in advance. For reserved seating ticket and suite information, visit SLSPromotions.com or call 1-815-344-2023 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Central) Monday thru Friday.

Also, spectators can upgrade any ticket to a pit pass for only $10 on race day.

Pittsburgh, PA (June 18th, 2013) – Danny Holtgraver and the entire B&R Racing ‘45’ team will to take-on one of the busiest sections of their 2013 racing campaign beginning this Friday, June 21st; as the 31st Annual ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ featuring the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions is set to take off. The 2013 edition of the ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ schedule is made up of eight (8) races over a nine (9) day period; with the UNOH All Stars making appearances at seven (7) different racing facilities along the way. Danny Holtgraver, who will pilot the Canton Erectors, Berlin Natural Bakery, Alternative Power Sources, DKW Transport, no. 45 ‘410’ sprint car during the entire length of speedweek, is anxious to kick-off the nine day adventure through the ‘Buckeye State.’ Holtgraver owns UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ victories at two (2) of the seven (7) tracks that will be hosting ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ events; giving the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native an even bigger boost of confidence heading into the speedweek opener this Friday.

The 31st Annual ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ schedule will kick-off this Friday evening, June 21st, at the Attica Raceway Park in Attica, Ohio. Danny Holtgraver has displayed much success at the high-banked 3/8’s mile oval; winning not only an UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ speedweek event, but also a Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) event earlier this season. The pilot of the B&R Racing ‘45,’ lead by veteran crew leader Brian Kemenah, is the defending winner of the Attica Raceway Park ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ opener.

After the ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ opener on Friday, June 21st at the Attica Raceway Park, the eight (8) race schedule will move on to the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on Saturday, June 22nd; the Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio on Sunday, June 23rd; the Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio on Monday, June 24th; all before wrapping-up the first half of the schedule on Tuesday, June 25th at the Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio. Danny Holtgraver and the rest of the ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ travelers will enjoy a day off from competition on Wednesday, June 26th. The former Lernerville Speedway sprint car champion does own one (1) UNOH All Star victory at the Wayne County Speedway; but not during ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ competition.

The 31st Annual ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ schedule will wrap up with events at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Thursday, June 27th; Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio on Friday, June 28th; and finally, coming to an end on Saturday, June 29th back at the Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio. All eight (8) races will pay at least $5,000 to the UNOH All Star ‘410’ sprint car main event winner; with Fremont Speedway’s finale on Saturday, June 29th paying $10,000 to the winner. Each speedweek program will also award UNOH All Star points towards the ‘National’ and ‘Ohio Region’ championships.

Danny Holtgraver will enter the 31st Annual ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek’ tour currently second (2nd) in the UNOH All Star ‘Ohio Region’ standings; while holding down a solid fourth (4th) place position in the overall UNOH All Star ‘National’ standings. The Western Pennsylvania native has one (1) UNOH All Star win thus far in 2013; that coming at the I-77 Raceway Park in the heart of West Virginia. Dale Blaney is the current ‘Ohio Region’ and ‘National’ UNOH All Star point leader heading into ‘Ohio Sprint Speedweek.’

FREMONT, Ohio – Following the tragic death of racer Jason Leffler earlier this week, many race fans have expressed a desire to help his family – particularly his five-year-old son, Charlie.

Fremont Speedway is organizing all the tracks that are hosting races during the 31st Annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek coming up at the end of the month, to collect funds for Leffler’s family.

“We wanted to show Jason’s family…his son, that racing is a great sport filled with caring, wonderful people. We know all of the fans and all of the tracks will embrace Jason’s family and will be very generous with their support,” said Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer.

Leffler, a versatile driver who won championships in USAC and competed in each of NASCAR’s three national series, died Wednesday night after a crash in a 410 sprint car at a track in New Jersey. The Long Beach, California native was affectionately known as “LEFturn” and had the nickname stenciled above his driver’s side window.

Farmer said there are still details to be ironed out, but so far all of the tracks involved in Speedweek are on board with having drivers go through the stands seeking donations for Leffler’s family. Also, beginning this weekend, racer Craig Mintz and his dad, Les, through their business Design Graphics Group, have donated stickers in Jason’s memory that will be sold at various tracks.

Ohio Sprint Speedweek, which features the University of Northwestern Ohio All Star Circuit of Champions, kicks off Friday, June 21 at Attica Raceway Park then travels to Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway on Saturday, June 22 and Waynesfield Raceway Park near Lima on Sunday, June 23. From there the series heads to the NAPA Wayne County Speedway near Orville, Ohio on Monday, June 24 and then to Sharon Speedway near Hartford, Ohio on Tuesday, June 25. After an off day on Wednesday, Speedweek stops at Fremont Speedway on Thursday, June 27 followed by Limaland Motorsports Park on Friday, June 28 and a big finale at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, June 29.

Champion’s multi-viscosity motor oils contain high zinc and phosphorous formulas designed to deliver the correct balance of chemistry to protect high performance engines, especially those using flat tappet roller cams operating at high RPM’s and requiring high-pressure valve springs.
These “purpose-built” lubricant products contain Champion’s proprietary TVS® (Thermal Viscosity Stabilizer) which extends oil film capacity for better protection at high temperatures. The Champion oils also contain special lubricity modifiers to reduce friction, and unlock the full potential of any engine by providing increased compression, horsepower and torque.
