YORK, Pa. (May 20, 2019) – It was a successful weekend for Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports, as the Central Pennsylvania-based operation scored a trio of main event starts during World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition at Lincoln Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway, respectively. The team highlighted all appearances with a 16th place finish during Williams Grove’s Morgan Cup finale on Saturday, May 18.

In addition to Haas’ 16th place run during the $12,000-to-win weekend finale, the York-native opened the Morgan Cup doubleheader at The Grove with a 22nd place performance on Friday, earning his spot in the evening’s main event by winning the Last Chance Showdown.

Haas’ World of Outlaws stretch technically commenced on Wednesday during Lincoln Speedway’s annual Gettysburg Clash. The former Kevin Gobrecht Memorial winner in the Pigeon Hills finished 17th to open his long weekend with the Greatest Show On Dirt, rallying ahead from 22nd on the feature grid.

“Taking into consideration the level of competition we were up against, I would say we had a successful week with the Outlaws. I know we would rather find ourselves within the top-ten, but we’ll take this momentum boost and move on. It was a fun, competitive weekend. It was nice to go to the track without a direct threat of bad weather,” Cory Haas said, driver of John Trone’s Trone Outdoor Motorsports/Trone Outdoors/York PB Truss/Old Republic Distillery/Wicked Cushion/No. 39 sprint car. “We have another busy weekend ahead with a lot of money on the line. I think if there’s a good time to get hot, it’s now.”

Cory Haas and Trone Outdoor Motorsports will continue their 2019 campaign with a trio of Central Pennsylvania events over Memorial Day weekend, first returning to Williams Grove Speedway for the $4,771-to-win Lynn Paxton Tribute on Friday, May 24. Haas’ weekend will resume and conclude with the two-day Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday and Sunday, May 25 & 26. Each of the Weikert programs will award $10,000 top prizes.
