Haas Will Use Upcoming Weekend as Prep Time for PA Speedweek

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

YORK, Pa. (June 17, 2016) – With Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek kicking off in a week, Central Pennsylvania’s best will have one last weekend to prepare for the nine race campaign across much of Central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. Cory Haas, a “Pennsylvania Posse” regular who plans to enter five of the nine scheduled Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek programs, will prepare with routine visits to Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway this Friday and Saturday, June 17-18.

“We typically schedule four of five of the speedweek shows. We always look forward to it,” said Cory Haas, pilot of the familiar Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., No. 11C. “It’s tough for us to schedule the entire week with our work schedules. It’s pretty crazy to think that we’re already talking about speedweek. We’ve been fortunate enough to be up front during speedweek events in the past. We’ll work to do that again next week.”

Cory Haas will visit Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg later this evening, June 17. Haas is currently fifth in the track championship standings, recording five top-ten finishes, highlighted with a fourth place run on Friday night, June 3. The former Jack Gunn Memorial champion at “The Grove” will enter each of the two Williams Grove Speedway events during Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek, the first on Friday, June 24, and the second on Friday, July 1.

Haas will continue his upcoming weekend on Saturday evening, June 18, at the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown. Like Williams Grove Speedway, Haas is well within the top-five of the current Lincoln Speedway track championship standings, fourth officially with seven top-ten finishes, three of which inside the top-five. Recent highlights in the Pigeon Hills includes finishing third on Saturday night, June 4.

Cory Haas is a former Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek winner at Lincoln Speedway, scoring the 2011 Kevin Gobrecht Memorial title worth $7,000. Speedweek returns to Lincoln Speedway on Saturday, June 25, once again awarding $7,000.

In addition to events at Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway, Cory Haas will enter Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek events at Path Valley Speedway and Hagerstown Speedway. Path Valley’s quarter-mile will host competition on Sunday, June 26, with Hagerstown Speedway having their share of speedweek competition on Wednesday, June 29.

“Speedweek gives us an opportunity to revisit some ovals we don’t normally get too many chances to visit, like Path Valley and Hagerstown,” explained Cory Haas. “We’ve been having a pretty consistent season so far. Having the chance to race five times in eight days will allow us to build up some more positive momentum before we get into the second half of the season.”

“I need to take the time to thank my entire team,” Haas said. “They work hard each and every week to keep me on the race track. I couldn’t do it without them. We’re all excited to get back to work. We’re hungry for a win.”
