Jared Miley perseveres for Ultimate Northeast title

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (October 15, 2018) – It was not an easy week for Pittsburgh’s Jared Miley, but despite the heartache, ‘The Jet’ persevered and completed his goal of attaining a championship during the inaugural season of the Ultimate Northeast Super Late Model Series.

Miley, a seven-time super late model winner in 2018 for car owner Joe Corrado, entered the Ultimate Northeast season finale at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway with a mere-one point advantage in the championship standings. A rally from tenth to fourth sealed his championship fate, keeping title contenders Ross Robinson and Matt Cosner at bay. In fact, Miley, Robinson and Cosner entered the season finale with only five markers separating the three.

With Robinson fading late due to mechanical woes, Miley’s final margin of victory in the Series championship was eight points. There were 44 cars entered for competition at Hagerstown’s Hub-City 100.

“We are dedicating this championship to my mom,” said Jared Miley, who lost his mother unexpectedly on Tuesday morning. “This race wasn’t on our minds all week. In fact, we didn’t have any intent on going, but after spending some time with family and talking things through, we decided that this is what she would have wanted. She was my biggest fan and a supporter of mine since I started racing. She was one of the biggest parts of this race team and to win a title for her is very special. I can’t thank my dad, brother, and my wife Rachael enough for their hard work and determination this weekend. I know it wasn’t easy for them, putting their emotion and heartache to the side to pull this off, but they did and I am proud of them. All we can do now is move forward.”

Miley’s Ultimate Northeast title, padded by a pair of victories (Tyler County and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway), will add to a resume that already includes a ULMS Racing Series title, as well as track championships at Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway.

Future plans for Jared Miley and the Joe Corrado-owned race team stand uncertain. More details will be released on social media in the coming days.
