Kekich Racing Ready to Launch Busy 2014 Schedule;
Adam Kekich Plans To Compete Locally in Western PA and Regionally with ‘Ohio Region’ All Stars
Hermitage, PA (April 6th, 2014) – After months of preparation, and plenty of overtime hours in his Hermitage, Pennsylvania race shop, Adam Kekich is finally ready to launch his 2014 racing campaign. Kekich, who will pilot the familiar Kekich Racing, Sunburst Environmental, Tight Seal Glass Block, Hermitage Agway, Liquid Nitro, no. 5K ‘410’ sprint car once again in 2014, plans to compete not only locally during the upcoming race year, but also on a regional scale; making an aggressive effort to roam in all areas of Pennsylvania and Ohio. The Hermitage, Pennsylvania racer hopes to be on the road ‘as much as possible’ during his 2014 campaign; following the UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ schedule. When not following ‘America’s Series,’ the third generation sprint car driver will be competing locally at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania; a 3/8’s mile dirt oval located just minutes from his Western Pennsylvania home. Racing throughout the region will give Adam Kekich the opportunity to compete along side some of the most recognized drivers in sprint car racing; giving his team the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience.
“We are ready to go…our team is extra determined this year!” explained Adam Kekich, “We want to race with the best and show that we can compete on a higher level…we have a lot of great people behind this team and I can’t thank them enough…we wanted to kick-off our season at Attica for the Spring Nationals but the weather kept us from making the trip…we will shake things down at the Mercer Raceway Park opener next Saturday…we are really excited!”
The UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ schedule is made up of multiple ‘410’ sprint car events all across the areas of Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Some of the tracks visited by the series includes Fremont Speedway, Attica Raceway Park, NAPA Wayne County Speedway, Lernerville Speedway and Mercer Raceway Park. The ‘Ohio Region’ is just one portion of the overall UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions’ national championship schedule. Adam Kekich competed at a number of UNOH All Star Circuit of Champions ‘Ohio Region’ events in 2013; qualifying for the A-main at each and every event he entered. The next UNOH All Star ‘Ohio Region’ event in 2014 takes place on Friday evening, May 9th; when the series make a visit to the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania.
“Our main focus this year is to get out on the road as much as we can and be competitive.” said Adam Kekich, “We are still looking for a few more sponsorships to help make those plans more permanent…we have the privilege of welcoming back many of our loyal sponsors…we also have the privilege of welcoming a few new supporters such as Liquid Nitro…everyone works hard and I can’t thank them enough!”
The Kekich Racing ‘5K’ operation will actually kick-off their new year next Saturday evening, April 12th during a regular ‘Saturday Night Live!’ program at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania. The ‘410’ sprint cars are on the ‘Saturday Night Live!’ racing card each and every weekend at the Mercer Raceway Park bullring; giving Western Pennsylvania racers a permanent home on Saturday nights. Adam Kekich is a two-time ‘410’ sprint car feature winner at ‘MRP’ and finished fourth (4th), officially, in the 2013 track standings; just 176 points shy of the top spot held by Jack Sodeman, Jr.. ‘MRP’ will actually honor Kekich’s late grandfather, Putzy Kekich, with a memorial race on August 9th. The ‘Putzy Kekich Memorial’ is probably the most important race date on Adam Kekich’s 2014 schedule.
“To win my grandfather’s memorial race would be so, so special” said Adam Kekich, “I’m pretty sure that would be more special to me than winning a career-first Outlaw race…it’s probably the race i’m looking forward to the most…regardless; we are anxious to get started…the guys on my team have been working really hard…we just really want to prove that we can compete on any level…it’s every racer’s dream to hit the road and race with a big series; and we hope to accomplish that some day…so for now, we are going to try and venture out as much as possible and really focus on making our team more noticeable…everyone involved is determined.”
Other 2014 racing plans for Adam Kekich include driving for car owner Bob McMillan at select shows around Western Pennsylvania. The Kekich/McMillan duo will likely make most of their appearances at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pennsylvania; participating in their signature ‘Fab Four’ racing programs on Friday evenings. Kekich is a former winner at the Sarver 4/10’s mile dirt oval; capturing a Steel City Stampede ‘305’ sprint car title.
