Marks charges from 24th to ninth at Knoxville; Cedar Lake double next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (July 2, 2018) – After not qualifying for World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series main event competition on Friday night at Knoxville Raceway, missing the A-main cut by one position after finishing sixth during the Last Chance Showdown, the “Myerstown Missile” Brent Marks rebounded in a big way on Saturday night at the Sprint Car Capital of the World and charged from 24th to earn his 13th WoO top-ten finish of the 2018 season.

Although forced to compete in Saturday’s Last Chance Showdown, doing so after finishing seventh during his respective heat race, Marks did one better than Friday night and finished fourth during the consolation event, setting up his impressive feature rally from 24th to finish ninth during the 25-lap, Brownells Big Guns Bash finale.

“I’m proud of my team. We kept our composure and worked hard to improve, and that is exactly what we did,” Brent Marks explained, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “Getting positive laps around Knoxville Raceway is really, really important. The biggest race of our sport is at Knoxville every August. I think our performance on Saturday is a great stepping stone for what we need to do in August. I’m already excited to go back.”

Brent Marks will continue his second season on the road with the Greatest Show On Dirt with the two-day FVP Platinum Battery Showdown at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Action will begin on Friday evening, July 6, concluding the following evening, Saturday, June 7. Marks highlighted his two-day visit to Cedar Lake Speedway in 2017 with an 18th place finish during the opener on Friday, July 7.
