Marks charges to a top-five during Jokers Wild at Eldora; Lernerville, Lincoln, Williams Grove next

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

MYERSTOWN, Pa. (July 16, 2018) – Brent Marks’ roller coaster week in the Buckeye State was filled with frustration, as well as accomplishment, highlighting his four-race stretch with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series with a top-five performance during the Jokers Wild at Eldora Speedway on Thursday, July 12. The fifth place finish, his fifth top-five of the 2018 World of Outlaws season, was accomplished in impressive fashion, ultimately charging forward from 20th on the grid in 30 circuits, clinching the evening’s KSE Hard Charger Award in the process. The Kings Royal preliminary program welcomed 46 entries.

Although ending in heartache, Brent Marks opened his Outlaw stretch in Ohio with an impressive run at Attica Raceway Park during the annual Brad Doty Classic, finishing second during his respective heat race before leading the first 21 circuits of the 40-lap main event. Unfortunately, a flat tire would end Marks’ campaign at the front of the field.

“I can’t say enough about my team and what we’ve been able to accomplish this season. Racing with the World of Outlaws can be frustrating, but when things go well, the sense of accomplishment and satisfaction outweigh any of the negative feelings,” Brent Marks said, driver of the Brent Marks Racing/M&M Painting & Construction/BAPS Auto Paint & Supply/Eagle Hotel/No. 19 sprint car. “I think we are all excited to get back home. Racing out of our own shop for a few days will be nice.”

Marks wrapped up his Kings Royal campaign with back-to-back Last Chance Showdown appearances on Friday during the Knight Before the Kings Royal, as well as on Saturday during the 35th annual, $50,000-to-win Kings Royal finale. Unfortunately, Marks was unable to transfer through each of the respective B-mains.

Up next on the schedule, Brent Marks will follow the World of Outlaws east and enter four events in Pennsylvania, first rejoining the Greatest Show On Dirt at Lernerville Speedway for Silver Cup competition on Tuesday, July 17. After his visit to Sarver, Marks will visit the “Fabulous” Lincoln Speedway for the Gettysburg Clash on Thursday, July 19, followed by two nights at Williams Grove Speedway for the Summer Nationals on Friday and Saturday, July 20 & 21. The Summer Nationals finale will award a $20,000 top prize.

Marks will enter Pennsylvania with 15 top-ten finishes during World of Outlaws competition in 2018, five of which occurring inside the top-five, one of those five being on top of the feature podium; Marks’ first-ever World of Outlaws victory. Brent Marks is currently ninth in the World of Outlaws championship standings.
