Max Stambaugh back on top in Michigan

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ELIDA, Ohio (September 24, 2018) – Turning into quite the sprint car operation, ‘Mad Max’ Stambaugh and car owner Shannon Eifert ‘parked it’ again, this time during Sprints On Dirt (SOD) competition at I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, Mich., on Friday, September 21. The victory, his second for Shannon Eifert during the month of September, bumped his overall win total to four in 2018, three of which occurring in the Wolverine State.

Stambaugh’s SOD victory was the result of a charge from the outside of row two, taking command of the feature field just after the midpoint of the main event.

Capping off a busy two-day stretch, Stambaugh’s recent weekend continued on Saturday, September 22, with a start at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. Joining the All Star Circuit of Champions, Stambaugh got the call from Ron Gorby to pilot his Howard Johnson of Lima-backed No. 1G sprint car during the 37th running of the 4-Crown Nationals. The opportunity proved successful for the nearby Elida, Ohio, native, piloting the No. 1G to a ninth place finish after starting on the outside of row six. Stambaugh now owns three top-ten finishes during All Star action in 2018.

“What an awesome weekend. I can’t say enough about Shannon Eifert and Ron Gorby. They went out on a limb for me and it worked out great. Shannon and I have a lot of plans to race with each other again in the near future, but hopefully Ron and I can work something out and keep this relationship going,” Stambaugh said, former All Star Circuit of Champions Rookie of the Year. “I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

Max Stambaugh’s upcoming plans have yet to be determined. Fans are encouraged to stay alert online for more details.
