Max Stambaugh will return to Florida for Ronald Laney Memorial at East Bay Raceway Park

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ELIDA, Ohio (February 12, 2018) – Despite already making the trek to Florida once from his Elida, Ohio, home, “Mad Max” Stambaugh is about to do it again, this time joining a field of 360 cubic inch sprint cars for the 42nd Annual Winternationals at East Bay Raceway Park just outside of Tampa. Stambaugh will pilot the Terry Busche-owned, No. 16 sprinter during his East Bay visit.

Sprint car action at East Bay Raceway Park will begin on Wednesday evening, February 14, with an open practice session, followed by three consecutive nights of competition on Thursday through Saturday, February 15-17. Preliminary action on Thursday and Friday will award $2,000 top prizes, all capped off with the $10,000-to-win finale on Saturday, February 17 – the Ronald Laney Memorial.

Stambaugh will enter his first-ever Winternationals campaign fresh off of five starts with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 at Bubba Raceway Park and Volusia Speedway Park between February 1-8. The 2017 All Star Circuit of Champions “Rookie of the Year” highlighted his five race stretch with a 14th place performance at Bubba Raceway Park. Stambaugh earned main event starts during three of the five contested events.

“I’m proud of what my team was able to accomplish with the All Stars in Florida. I have a few people in line to help me here and there, but for the most part it’s only going to be David Diller and I,” Stambaugh explained, pilot of the Biggies Coast to Coast/No. 5M. “This is my own deal. We were up against some loaded fields in Florida. We were smart with our equipment and qualified for all three nights at Bubba Raceway Park. I think we were a little underpowered at Volusia, but we still had fun. I’m excited to get back to Florida this weekend.”
