Teams busy preparing for National Open Kick-It Tournament
By: Jason Bly

In less than 2 weeks the 2nd Annual Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Tournament will take place at the Upper Allen Township Community Park just north of Williams Grove Speedway. Many teams are already practicing and raising money for Kick-It. Nearly $4,000 has already been raised through the hard work of all our players and volunteers. Thanks to everyone who has pledged support to make this event something special.

There are still a limited number of spots left on select teams if you are interested in playing kickball with other drivers, team members and racing personalities, sign yourself up through our National Open Kick-It page at http://www.kick-it.org/events/2nd-annual-williams-grove-national or contact jason@paposseracing.com to be added to a team. We encourage at least a $10 donation per player when you register to help reach our goal. It is free to come out and watch but everyone is encouraged to visit our Kick-It page and donate. You may also donate with cash or a check while at the Kick-It games. Registration will begin the day of the event NO EARLIER than 11:30 a.m. and will stop when the first game begins around 12:15 pm. There will be an elimination style tournament scheduled, with 16 teams. The WAKA rulebook will be used for this tournament which can be found at http://www.kickball.com/files/KICKBALL_OFFICIAL_RULES_2012.pdf. Each round will have 5 inning games, and a total of 4 rounds, with the Championship round between the final two teams determining the Williams Grove National Open Kick-It Champion.

A prize raffle will again be held this year and you pick the item you want to place your raffle ticket in the drawing for. Various racing teams and organizations have donated items to be given as raffle prizes. Some of the items to be given away are a pair of ticket vouchers to a NASCAR event at Dover International Speedway, a Harrisburg Senators memorabilia pack including signed items, Arooga’s gift basket and more. Raffle tickets will be sold at the event and all money raised will also go to Kick-It. Teams that raise over $1500 in total donations for their team will receive 1 extra raffle ticket per player.

Hot dogs, snacks and drinks will be available at the event. Any item available to eat or drink is just $1 each with all money collected going to Kick-It. Event T-shirts will also be available thanks once again to Fast Tees. Be sure to stop by and see Crystal or Jamie Nace for your shirt.

Those business sponsors and personal donators that have given $150 or more by online donation will receive 3 additional raffle tickets to be used during the raffle prize giveaway at the end of the event. Please stop by the registration table from 12:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. on October 4 to receive your tickets. We will have your name on a sheet as long as you did not give an anonymous donation and amount, we cannot give tickets for those amounts we cannot verify. If you do not wish to place an online donation please stop by the registration table at the event or mail your donation (make checks payable to Kick-It): PAPosseracing, LLC, 1550 Broadway, Hanover, PA 17331. To make a cash donation of $150 or more and receive your tickets, come to the event with your donation, see us at the registration table to receive your raffle tickets for your $150+ donation, then you may place the funds in any of the teams jar(s) you wish the money to go towards. Our hope is to also have many other prizes to give away to those teams and players that raise the most money for the Kick-It Foundation. If your business or race team would like to donate something to the raffle please contact jason@paposseracing.com. We will have other updates and releases from now until game day at PAPosseracing.com, our PAPosseracing Facebook page as well as on our twitter account @jasonbly.
