Former World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series Champion, Donny Schatz, picked up a $20,000 victory last night (January 7th) after dominating the 50 lap ‘Australian Open’ with the World Series Sprintcars at Brisbane International Speedway in Queensland! Robbie Farr was second, followed by current World Series Sprintcars point lead, James McFadden, who was third. The two day ‘Australian Open’ event at Brisbane, also known as Archerfield, opened on Friday evening with Jason Johnson picking up the 20 lap, preliminary feature win. The two day event acted as round no. 9 for the WSS tour.

World Series Sprintcars competition will return to action next Saturday evening, January 14th, at Speedway City in Adelaide, Australia for round no. 10 of the 2011/2012 schedule. James McFadden was the winner during the series’ first visit to the facility back in late December.
