Stambaugh and Horstman have success in Michigan; September schedule coming together

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

ELIDA, Ohio (September 6, 2018) – The recent weekend included, ‘Mad Max’ Stambaugh has put together a string of success in the Wolverine State in 2018, not just while piloting his own ride, but others, too.

During recent competition, the Elida, Ohio, native joined the Great Lakes Super Sprints (GLSS) for a pair of starts at Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Mich., on Friday and Saturday, August 31 & September 1. Although the Fall Sprintacular was cut down to just one day due to Mother Nature’s inability to cooperate, Friday’s start was a success; finishing second during feature action after winning his respective heat race. Piloting the Jared Horstman Racing No. 17 machine, the finish was down to the wire, ultimately losing a drag race to the start/finish line to eventual winner, Gregg Dalman, by less than a car length.

“I can’t thank Jared Horstman enough for this opportunity. He was kind enough to put together a second car for me and it worked out great. I’m excited for the opportunity to drive for him again,” Max Stambaugh explained, who pilots his own Wicked Cushion No. 5M during 410c.i. competition. “We plan to visit Canada in a few weeks and enter the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals. It’s a huge opportunity and I plan to take full advantage of it.”

In addition to his runner-up finish at Tri-City Motor Speedway, ‘Mad Max’ owns one victory in the state of Michigan in 2018, occurring on June 23 during GLSS action at Crystal Motor Speedway.

“We’ve always had a fair share of success in Michigan,” Stambaugh continued. “A lot of the tracks up there really fit my driving style. Not to mention, it’s not that far from my home shop.”

Other recent starts include rejoining the All Star Circuit of Champions at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio, for the $10,000-to-win Pete Jacobs Memorial on September 2. Although forced to start 20th due to his heat race finish (fifth) and qualifying time, Stambaugh battled hard and salvaged a 14th place finish.

As previously mentioned, Max Stambaugh will join Jared Horstman Racing yet again during the coming weeks and make the trip to Ohsweken Speedway in Ontario for the annual Canadian Sprint Car Nationals on September 13-15. The 360c.i. blockbuster will award a $10,000 top prize on Saturday, September 15.
