BROWNSBURG, Ind. (June 24, 2019) – The 2019 edition of Cometic Gasket Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Indy Metal Finishing was a frustrating experience for three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and recent NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee, Tony Stewart, forced to not only deal with poor weather, which was responsible for the loss of four nights of competition, but also forced to deal with poor luck, ultimately ending his three-race stretch with a trio of ‘DNF’ finishes.

Stewart, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Toco Warranty/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/Absolute Automation & Security/No. 14 sprint car, visited Attica Raceway Park, Muskingum County Speedway and Wayne County Speedway, respectively, during his Ohio Sprint Speedweek venture.

“It was a frustrating week for our team, especially considering how much speed we’ve shown this year,” Tony Stewart expressed. “It’s one of those deals. Sometimes, things don’t go your way and your forced to deal with it. All we can do now is look ahead and prepare for a long weekend in Central Pennsylvania. Hopefully we find some nice weather, as well as some momentum, to help us get moving in the right direction.”

A spin while battling within the top-five at Attica on June 14 eventually resulted in an early retirement for Stewart. Unfortunately, bad luck continued during his visit to Muskingum County Speedway on Sunday, June 16, once again forced to retire early while battling for a top-five finish. Mechanical issues were the culprit a Muskingum; Smoke was scored 24th.

Stewart’s Ohio Sprint Speedweek campaign came to a close on Saturday, June 22, at Wayne County Speedway just outside of Orrville. Although the overall outcome was the same, the scenario was different, this time getting caught up in a mess while racing for a transfer spot during the evening’s B-main; Stewart was scored 15th.

With the intent to defeat the infamous Pennsylvania Posse, Tony Stewart will venture to the Keystone State during the coming week, set to take part in most of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek schedule which commences Friday night, June 28, at Williams Grove Speedway. Although Stewart plans to enter most, if not all of the Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek dates, the team will still evaluate plans day by day.
