Super6 Late Models to make national debut during Dog Hollow’s Spring Time Spectacular

BUTLER, PA. (January 27, 2017) – After nearly five years of intense research and development,  followed by numerous test sessions and multiple stages of fabrication, the Super6 Late Models are ready to make their national debut, adding a new division of short track competition that will surpass all levels of expectation, as well as prove to be the new go-to division for entry-level racers and “small car” enthusiasts.

“This is exciting for our entire organization. We’ve been working on this concept for a long time, and to finally reach this point really gives us a great sense of accomplishment,” Mike Spinneweber said, owner and founder of Super6 Late Models, as well as TRD Racing, Inc.; the exclusive manufacturer of Super6 Late Model racecars in the United States. “We’ve been testing concepts for the last few years, and what we’ve come up with is reliable, affordable, and will certainly thrill any motorhead. This division is ideal for those who want to race in the late model ranks, but maybe do not have the budget necessary to be competitive in a super late model. I’m excited to show the world what these race cars can really do.”

Despite the size, roughly three-quarters that of a standard super late model chassis, Super6 Late Models have an immense amount of power, reaching the brink of 350 horsepower by means of a 4.3L Chevy V-6. When in comparison with a super late model chassis, the components and adjustment points are nearly identical. The only obvious difference is the size.

“I think what makes our cars so special is that they are nearly identical to that of a super late model. And despite the size difference and the engine size, these things are powerful.” Spinneweber stated. “They are actually a very aggressive machine, but at the same time, very reliable. That is what will allow these cars to grow and become increasingly popular among active racers; their ability to thrill, but stay reliable. That is what racers on a budget need.”

Super6 Late Models will participate in sanctioned competition for the first time ever on Saturday, April 8, at the Dog Hollow Speedway near Strongstown, Pennsylvania, co-headlining the season opening Spring Time Spectacular.  In addition, the Indiana County oval will be a regular home for the newly formed late model division, hosting a minimum of two programs per month during the entire 2017 season.

“First and foremost, I want to thank Dan Savino and everyone at Dog Hollow Speedway for allowing this to happen, and in such quick fashion,” said Spinneweber. “They were intrigued and actively interested in what we had to share right from the start, so we appreciate their intuitiveness. I think this is the beginning of a great relationship with Dog Hollow Speedway. With their help, I’m sure we will have the ability to spark further interest in our series, which will ultimately allow our idea to expand. We couldn’t be more excited to get started.”
