T.J. Michael Set to Tackle Ohio Sprint Speedweek,
Finishes sixth at Butler Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

FREMONT, Ohio (June 13, 2016) – After earning his third top-ten finish of the 2016 All Star season, the “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael will switch focus and now begin preparations for one of the most demanding weeks in open wheel racing.

Michael, a Plano, Texas, native who lives in Fremont, Ohio, during much of the racing season, will continue his rookie campaign with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions during Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket. The 34th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek will feature eight race dates at eight different dirt ovals, all over the course of nine days, igniting officially on Friday night, June 17, at Attica Raceway Park in Attica. Michael, pilot of the Advanced Cast Stone, Fremont Fence Company, Kear’s Speed Shop, Shell Shock, Hinchman Suits, Snap-On, Kistler Racing Engines, No. 8M, will enter the strenuous week of racing currently fifth in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions standings, earning three top-ten finishes during his first 13 feature starts.

“We’ve been waiting for this week for a long time,” said T.J. Michael. “I think we have the potential to make a lot of noise this week. We get better every time we are on the race track, so having the opportunity to race eight times during one stretch should only help us. I’m really excited about it. We have a great team put together with a lot of confidence. We have MJ Webb Enterprises coming on board with us during speedweek, also, so that makes things really exciting. We’ll see how things go.”

The 2016 Ohio Sprint Speedweek presented by Cometic Gasket schedule will consist of events at Attica Raceway Park (6/17), Waynesfield Raceway Park (6/18), Millstream Speedway (6/19), Wayne County Speedway (6/20), Sharon Speedway (6/21), Atomic Speedway (6/22), Limaland Motorsports Park (6/24) and Eldora Speedway (6/25). The Eldora Speedway speedweek finale will award $10,000. In addition, the top-ten in final Ohio Sprint Speedweek points will be awarded a share of $3,000.

T.J. Michael will enter Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition with a recent top-ten finish with the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions. The “Texas Traveler” finished sixth at Butler Speedway in Butler, Michigan, on Saturday evening, June 11, after starting tenth. Michael kicked off his night in the Great Lakes State with a victory during his respective heat race.

Other recent results include charging to a top-five finish at Attica Raceway Park during the FAST Series Vs. OSCS challenge program on June 10. Michael finished fifth at the Attica highbanks after starting 11th, his highest finish of the season thus far at Attica Raceway Park. There were 40 cars entered for the $3,000-to-win program.

“We had a great night at Butler. I am super proud of everyone,” Michael said. “Things just kinda went our way right off of the trailer and that says a lot. That was a great way to roll into speedweek. I just want to thank my team, my family, and all of my dedicated sponsors. I wouldn’t be where I am now without everyone’s support.”
