T.J. Michael Shows Promise During Weekend with Outlaws
Continues “Lone Star State” Tour this Friday and Saturday at Red River Speedway

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

PLANO, Texas (February 29, 2016) – The “Texas Traveler” T.J. Michael made two starts in his home state during the recent weekend, joining the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Cars at two different Texas ovals. The Plano, Texas, native joined the “Greatest Show On Dirt” at Cotton Bowl Speedway near Paige, Texas, on Friday, February 26, followed by an appearance at the Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown, Texas, on Saturday, February 27.

The second year 410 sprint car pilot made the most of his weekend with the national travelers, qualifying for each main event by way of heat race finish and finishing as high as 18th. Michael finished 18th after starting 20th on Friday evening at Cotton Bowl Speedway, followed up by a 19th place finish after starting 17th at Royal Purple Raceway; a consistent performance with the nation’s finest sprint car teams.

“We’re happy with our weekend…we gained a lot by racing with those guys” Michael explained, “We’ve never seen those tracks before. It is a huge confidence booster to show up at two new tracks and qualify for the main event, especially with almost 35 cars entered on both nights. We logged a lot of laps and took a lot of notes. Our goal is to learn as much as we can each and every night. We’re already looking forward to racing with those guys again later in the year.”

T.J. Michael will return to competition this Friday and Saturday back in his home state of Texas. The recent high school graduate will join forces with the Mike Melton-owned race team during the upcoming weekend, entering the two-day Red River Roundup at Red River Speedway near Wichita Falls, Texas. The RRS Racesaver Sprint Cars program, sanctioned by the Sprint Series of Oklahoma, will feature back-to-back nights of 305 sprint car competition on Friday and Saturday, March 4-5, awarding a $1,000 top prize on Saturday evening. Michael, a multi-time 305 main event winner in 2015 in areas of Texas and Ohio, is a former Red River Roundup competitor; finishing fifth and second during the premier program in 2015.

“We have a lot of momentum behind us after this past weekend…excited to put it to good use this Friday and Saturday” Michael explained, “We didn’t have anything scheduled this weekend with our 410 team, so Mike Melton gave me a great opportunity to drive his No. M1 during the Red River Roundup. I can’t thank him enough for this chance. I was really comfortable at Red River Speedway last year…looking forward to getting back there on Friday.”
