BROWNSBURG, Ind. (August 13, 2018) – Tony Stewart’s return to the Hawkeye State was action-packed, to say the least.

Smoke, driver of the Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing/Rush Truck Centers/Textron Off Road/Ford Performance/Curb Records/Sage Fruit/No. 14 sprint car, entered four events in five days; two during 360c.i. competition and two during 410c.i. competition. The Columbus, Ind., native highlighted his visit to Iowa with a main event start during 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary competition at Knoxville Raceway; Stewart was scored 20th.

Stewart launched his 360 Knoxville Nationals campaign by setting the fastest qualifying time during the Thursday night preliminary program.

“It’s always nice getting back to Knoxville Raceway,” Stewart said, a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion. “We were able to get a lot of lap time over the last week or so. That will prove to be very helpful when we visit New York with the All Star Circuit of Champions during the upcoming weekend. Hopefully we can keep improving and work toward a win with the Series.”

In addition to his 360 Knoxville Nationals preliminary A-main start, Stewart finished sixth during the 360 Knoxville Nationals finals B-main, as well as finished ninth during the Capitani Classic B-main on Sunday, August 5.

Although entered for action during the Front Row Challenge at Southern Iowa Speedway on Monday, August 6, an early flat tire during preliminary action forced Stewart to retire for the rest of the evening.

Up next on the schedule, Tony Stewart will continue his 2018 campaign with a trio of Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions presented by Mobil 1 starts in the Empire State during the upcoming weekend, set to visit Utica-Rome Speedway, Orange County Fair Speedway, and Lebanon Valley Speedway on Friday through Sunday, August 17-19, respectively. Smoke will enter the weekend with ten top-ten finishes during All Star competition in 2018, four of which accomplished inside the top-five.
