YORK, PA (April 26, 2017) – Haas and John Trone’s Trone Outdoor Motorsports scored a season-best runner-up finish at Williams Grove. Haas fended off furious challenges from Matt Campbell and Lucas Wolfe to maintain the lead before succumbing to race winner Freddie Rahmer on lap 24. Haas led 23 laps and crossed the line .334 seconds behind Rahmer.
Haas, although dejected he couldn’t pick up the win for John Trone, acknowledged the progress and speed the team has made. “I just wanted to get the win for these guys. They deserve it. We’ll come back next weekend and try and build on it,” Haas said. Saturday night’s racing action at Lincoln Speedway was cancelled due to weather.
Haas and the rest of the Williams Grove regulars will host Tony Stewart’s Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions Friday as the invaders will try and end a 30-race drought to the “Pennsylvania Posse” at the famous ½ mile. “I’m looking forward to running with the All Stars. They always bring a good amount of cars and it will be a good measuring stick for us,” Haas said about the upcoming weekend.
Haas will return to the Lincoln Speedway for the annual Weldon Sterner Memorial that pays a whopping $6,900 to win.
