Williams Grove National Open Ahead for Brock Zearfoss

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, PA (September 26, 2016) – For three consecutive days, the “Jonestown Jet” Brock Zearfoss will join the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, competing for three separate paydays equaling a grand total of $70,000.

The 54th Annual Champion Racing Oil National Open will feature two, full preliminary programs on Thursday and Friday, September 29-30, followed by the 40-lap/$50,000-to-win National Open finale on Saturday evening, October 1. Brock Zearfoss qualified for the 2015 edition of the National Open with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series and finished 24th.

“We were fortunate enough to qualify for the National Open main event in 2015, so we’ll try to outdo that result this year and move into the top-ten,” Zearfoss said. “It is definitely a lot easier said than done. The best of the best will be on hand this weekend. Every lap counts, so if we want to make a run at earning a top-ten result, we’ll have to capitalize every time we are on the track. I want to thank everyone for this opportunity. We’ll do our best to race our way toward the front.”

Brock Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, Masters Mechanical Insulation, Comprehensive Test and Balance, Berkebile Oil Company, No. 3z entry, will enter the National Open triple-header with two recent starts in Central Pennsylvania; one during the Williams Grove National Open Tune-Up and one during the $20,000-to-win, Third Annual Dirt Classic at Lincoln Speedway. Despite results equaling less than expected, and somewhat less than attractive, the “Jonestown Jet” is content and continues to look forward to challenging the Greatest Show On Dirt.

“The weekend wasn’t as spectacular as we would have liked it to be, but, that happens,” Zearfoss explained. “During the Tune-Up at Williams Grove, our wing panel ended up coming apart during qualifying which really set us back the entire night. We had a hard time getting things going from the start and ended up just pulling off during the B-main. It was disappointing, but it was out of our control. I’m sure things would have been different if the wing didn’t fall apart.”

“Lincoln Speedway treated us ‘OK’ during the Dirt Classic. We qualified for the show, which was a huge accomplishment considering the company we were with, but still, didn’t quite have things where they needed to be.” Zearfoss said. “We had to work hard in the B-main; climbed from eighth to third which put us in the show. Even though we qualified, we had to start deep. I think a few red flags would have been helpful. That would have given us an opportunity to adjust a few things.  It was our first Dirt Classic, so I’ll take those results and be proud of it.”
