Zearfoss Rallies from Tenth to Earn Top-Five at Port Royal;
Triple-Header on the way in Central PA

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

JONESTOWN, PA (May 2, 2016) – Despite Mother Nature causing conflict throughout much of the tri-state area, the show went on as scheduled at Port Royal Speedway. Brock Zearfoss, a weekly competitor at the half-mile “Speed Palace,” joined the field on Saturday evening, April 30, and rallied for a top-five finish after 25 green flag laps. Zearfoss, pilot of the Brock Zearfoss Racing, Moose’s LZ Bar & Grill, Meckley’s Limestone, Central Builders Supply Co., Leach’s Automotive, No. 3Z, started tenth on the feature grid and gained five positions to finish fifth at the final checkers, his fourth top-ten finish at the Port Royal, Pennsylvania, oval this season. The “Jonestown Jet” has finished as high as second during 410 sprint car feature competition at Port Royal Speedway in 2016, his highest overall finish of the season thus far.

Plans to enter competition at Williams Grove Speedway on Friday, April 29, and Path Valley Speedway Park on Sunday, May 1, were each halted by Mother Nature.

“I’m happy we had the opportunity to race,” explained Brock Zearfoss. “It looked like our chances were pretty slim, but Port Royal kept the show moving and got us out of there before the weather. We’re thrilled to earn a top-five. We had some things fall our way on Saturday night and we kept our nose clean. I think we had a shot to be a podium car, but I made a mistake during a restart that costed us some time. I’m proud of my team. They work hard and keep pushing. We’ll get back at it this weekend with three races.”

Up next on the schedule is another trio of events in “Pennsylvania Posse Country.” Brock Zearfoss will kick start action on Friday night, May 6, at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, followed by his return to Port Royal Speedway on Saturday evening, May 7. The Jonestown, Pennsylvania, native will enter the “Speed Palace” gates on Saturday afternoon well inside the top-ten of the current track championship standings, sixth officially, trailing the current point leader by 245 markers.

The weekend will conclude on Sunday evening, May 8, at Susquehanna Speedway near York Haven, Pennsylvania. The Kevin Gobrecht Classic will headline action at the newly renovated facility, a second visit by the 410 sprints in 2016.
