410 SPRINT CARS HEADLINE NIGHT OF WINGS 2013 AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY ON JUNE 12

Bridgeport, NJ (May 13, 2013) – On Wednesday, June 12, the 410 Sprint Cars are set to return to Bridgeport Speedway and will headline the Night of Wings 2013 show. Keith Hoffman, track operator of South Jersey facility, is teaming with Mike Heffner to promote the event. Heffner, owner of the Lelands.com sponsored 410 Sprint Car driven this year by Lance Dewease, co-promoted the successful 2012 Night of Wings show at Bridgeport Speedway. “I am very excited to see the 410 Sprint Cars at Bridgeport Speedway. This should be a must-see event on everyone’s calendar,” stated Hoffman.

For this race, a hefty purse will be up for grabs. The victor of the 25-lap main event will walk away with a cool $7,000 and $500 will be given to take the green. Non qualifiers will go home with $100. Some of the top drivers in 410 Sprint Car racing have already committed to the Night of Wings 2013 show. Along with Dewease, Fred Rahmer, and Dave Blaney have announced plans to attend. In addition, an autograph session with Blaney is slated to occur before the racing activity gets underway. Many other top names are expected to be on hand for this event.

Qualifying for the 410 Sprint Cars will follow the same format that was employed at last year’s Night of Wings show. Upon entry to the facility, each 410 Sprint Car driver will draw a pill to determine his or her heat race group. Each grouping will go out for time trials and an inversion of the top four (4) will set the starting lineup of each respective heat race. Drivers not in the top four (4) of their groups will be lined up in the qualifying events by time. The first two (2) finishers in each heat race are eligible for the feature redraw and the fastest qualifier in each grouping will be added as well providing the driver finishes the heat race in a qualifying position. All other heat race qualifiers will be assigned a starting position in the main event by time.

On Wednesday, June 12, the gates to the pit area will open at 4:00 p.m. with the grandstand ticket office opening at 5:00 p.m. Warm-up sessions are set to begin at 7:00 p.m. with racing getting underway at 7:30 p.m. Night of Wings 2013 tickets for fans 16 and older will be $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the show. Admission for students (10-15) will be $15 and children 9 and under are free. Skyboxes are available for this event as well and can be reserved by contacting the speedway office at 856-467-4407. A rain date of Thursday, June 13 has been scheduled for this race and a second racing division will be added to round out the program.
