Steve Francis claimed the $10,000 victory Saturday night at East Bay Raceway Park to end DART Winternationals competition for 2012. This was his second win in three days with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series; claiming Thursday night’s $7,000 victory, as well. The Kentucky native currently sits third in the overall series’ standings; just behind Jimmy Owens and point leader, Dennis Erb Jr.
Jimmy Owens finished second in last night’s 60 lap DART Winternationals finale at East Bay – with Don O’Neal, Scott Bloomquist, and Dennis Erb Jr. rounding out the top five.
The series will have some time off before returning to competition. The next event on their 2012 schedule is the annual “Indiana Icebreaker” at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday, March 24th! It will be a 50 lap – $10,000 to win event.
