The St. Helena, California-native opened the two-day stretch with an impressive rally from 13th to finish second at Knoxville Raceway, earning the evening’s Hard Charger Award by gaining the most feature positions.

Nearly matching his Knoxville outcome, Abreu finished fifth during Huset’s Speedway’s $20,000-to-win Grand Re-Opening on Sunday evening, battling well-within the top-five the entire 35-lap distance after starting where he finished.

“It was a great weekend for our team and I’m excited about our performance. We have a lot of people who support and back this team and we want to do our part by giving back with great results. We’re carrying a lot of positive momentum right now, so the goal is to put that to good use during our upcoming trips to Pevely and Knoxville,” Rico Abreu explained, “It’s going to be a fun few weeks.”

Rico Abreu and Rico Abreu/Curb Agajanian Racing will blast ahead and prepare for back-to-back Ironman starts at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, on Friday and Saturday, August 7-8. Abreu is a two-time Ironman champion, securing the $20,000 top prize in 2016 and 2017.

Abreu will follow Ironman weekend with the three-day One & Only program at Knoxville Raceway on Thursday through Saturday, August 13-15. The three-day showcase will cap with a $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday.
