Denver, PA (June 24th, 2014) – The 2014 edition of ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ will launch this Friday evening, June 27th at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; kicking-off a nine (9) race ‘410’ sprint swing through central Pennsylvania, eastern Pennsylvania and northern Maryland over a ten (10) day time span. Alan Krimes, a regular central Pennsylvania sprint car competitor and current Lincoln Speedway point leader, will follow the first seven (7) dates of the 2014 ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ campaign; beginning this Friday evening at the Williams Grove Speedway. The 2014 ‘speedweek’ schedule will stretch from Friday, June 27th until Sunday, July 6th, with the only ‘off’ day being Monday, June 30th. Alan Krimes will be in action from June 27th until July 4th; all before evaluating his current position in the ‘speedweek’ standings, and deciding whether or not to enter the final two dates.
Alan Krimes will initiate his 2014 ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ tour at the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday evening, June 27th. ‘Speedweek’ then moves on to the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday, June 28th. The Lincoln Speedway visit on Saturday will feature the 15th Annual Kevin Gobrecht Memorial worth $7,000. Path Valley Speedway Park will host the 2014 ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ on Sunday, June 29th; featuring a $5,000 to win main event.
After an ‘off’ day on Monday, June 30th, Alan Krimes will rejoin the ‘speedweek’ trail for a visit to the Grandview Speedway near Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania for another $5,000-to-win program on Tuesday, July 1st. On Wednesday, July 2nd, ‘speedweek’ moves on to the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland for a $5,000 pay day. Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, Pennsylvania will host Alan Krimes and all of the ‘speedweek’ travelers on Thursday, July 3rd; once again offering a $5,000 winner’s share. Alan Krimes will then wrap-up his 2014 ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ campaign on Friday evening, July 4th back at the Williams Grove Speedway. The second Williams Grove Speedway visit will feature the Mitch Smith Memorial worth $10,000.
Depending on ‘speedweek’ results and performance, Alan Krimes and the entire Midnite Antiques, Conestoga Valley Garage, Wayne Corini, Krimes Racing Engines, VRP Shocks, ‘87’ team could make an appearance at Port Royal Speedway on Saturday, July 5th, and Selinsgrove Speedway to end ‘speedweek’ on Sunday, July 6th. A decision on those last two (2) remaining dates will be made at a later time.
Alan Krimes has three (3) career ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ victories to his credit entering the 2014 edition. The current Lincoln Speedway track championship point leader owns ‘speedweek’ wins at Hagerstown Speedway (2010), Williams Grove Speedway (2011) and Lincoln Speedway (2013).
‘Super’ Alan Krimes will enter the upcoming weekend tied for fourth (4th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL PA SPRINT CAR SERIES Presented by Hoseheads.com point standings with 333 points; on the strength of two (2) Central Pennsylvania victories.
