Deer Creek Speedway Hosts Asgrow/DeKalb Clash at the Creek on Saturday
Inside Line Promotions – SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (Sept. 10, 2013) – The 5th annual trek to Deer Creek Speedway is only days away for the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series.
The premier sprint car series is set for the Asgrow/DeKalb Clash at the Creek on Saturday at the high-banked track, which features side-by-side racing at a high rate of speed.
Minnesota native Craig Dollansky won last season’s event with a last-lap pass on Donny Schatz, who charged from 17th to take the lead at the white flag.
“Last year it was a great win for our team and I’m definitely looking forward to going back again,” Dollansky said. “It’s a pretty racy track. They work pretty hard at the track preparation.”
Dollansky was the third different winner in the series history at the facility. Joey Saldana claimed the first two events in 2009-10 and 20-time series champion Steve Kinser was victorious in 2011 at the 3/8-mile oval.
Entering this year’s event, there will be only nine World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series features remaining on the schedule as Daryn Pittman and Schatz – the defending champion – are in a heated battle for supremacy of the championship standings.
