OVSCA at Skyline and Traveling to Brushcreek this Weekend
Plus Schedules Midway Speedway for July 4th

Leading into Friday night at Skyline Speedway, Jim Stinson sat in the OVSCA point lead by just three points over Kory Crabtree. After the finish, Crabtree booted Stinson out of the lead and Nathan Skaggs took a jump into second place just two points behind Crabtree. With the points battle closing in and not only an extremely close race among the top three but also throughout the entire top twenty we are seeing exactly how missing just one night out can result in a shift on the leader board. Forty-two drivers are currently registered with OVSCA and more than 30 are racing consistently throughout the various events. So far, in 2013, OVSCA has traveled to six different tracks and is scheduled to visit up to four more new facilities in the upcoming weeks. With six different winners in ten races, the racing is competitive and exciting across the board. As summer heats up, so does the OVSCA schedule.

This coming weekend, the Ohio Valley Sprint Cars will follow up their regular Friday night show at Skyline with a roadtrip to Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in Peebles, Ohio. Last year was the first year OVSCA traveled to Brushcreek and the unique turns created trouble for some and opportunity for others. Brushcreek is a large 3/10 track and provides an exceptionally wide racing. After the May 11th rainout the anticipation is high not only for fans but OVSCA drivers and crews as well. Last October, Cole Duncan out-motored the competition and currently holds the track record in sprints.

As sprint car racing really begins to rev up across the state this weekend, will Duncan be able to defend his title as only OVSCA feature winner at Brushcreek, or will a new face make his way into the spotlight. Nearby natives, Ron Blair and Adam Strausser have potential to be seen in victory lane. Will an OVSCA “regular” capture the win? Regardless of who takes the checkered flag, this is a show you won’t want to miss. With the hot point race, increasing support throughout the OVSCA community, the excitement throughout the Brushcreek region and the fastest winged warriors on a dirt oval, OVSCA expects nothing but the best.

Following this weekend’s events, OVSCA is also proud to announce the addition of Midway Speedway in Crooksville, Ohio to the list of 2013 events. With the holiday weekend quickly approaching, and scheduled shows already close to home, Midway has requested OVSCA be in attendance to participate in the first night of their Summer Bash.

Thursday, July 4th, the Ohio Valley Sprint Cars have been added to the list of events along with Late Model and Modified Heats/Consis and Mini Mini Wedge Nationals. Midway is under new and family operated management for 2013. An exceptional amount of passion and energy has going into “turning this place around” and OVSCA is honored to be a part of the facility’s growth. The sprints will be the featured event for Thursday’s show and lead into what is an exceptionally jam-packed schedule of weekend racing excitement. There will also be a hog roast and live band for Thursday night entertainment. In addition to the kick-off event, Midway has scheduled a weekend absolutely full of racing fun. Street Stocks, Mini Wedges, 4-Cylinders, Modifieds, Late Models and even Power Wheels for the kiddos are among the scheduled events. There is also plenty of special programming, from a poker run to bike and car shows, to trailer races demo derbies and lots o f live music. July 4th, will be the perfect lead-in event for the Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association as the series is scheduled to compete just a short distance down the road at Skyline Speedway on Friday July 5th. Then again, the sprints will take a jaunt across the river to Ohio Valley Speedway in Lubeck, West Virginia. Three nights of back to back to back racing programs all within 100 miles of each other gives drivers an opportunity to compete at a lower traveling expense and fans to enjoy a variety of action in their own “back yards” with potential for three completely different outcomes of forms of competition.
As the summer heats up, so does the OVSCA competition. Don’t miss out on the winged warriors in full force this weekend at Skyline Speedway and Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and again next week for the holiday racing action in the mid-Ohio Valley.
