Riverside Hosts Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass May 3
Inside Line Promotions – OWASSO, Okla. (April 10, 2014) – TBJ Promotions kicks off an ambitious schedule of winged sprint car races with the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass next month.
The racy Riverside International Speedway in West Memphis, Ark., hosts the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour on Saturday, May 3, for the sixth edition of the famed event.
“Riverside International Speedway is one of the oldest operating facility in the United States,” TBJ Promotions Founder Tony Bruce Jr. said. “A lot of the best sprint car drivers in America have cut their teeth there or at least raced there.”
Arkansas native Tim Crawley swept the inaugural doubleheader in 2009 and he split the two-day event in 2010 with Bruce Jr. Seth Bergman captured the Eagle Motorsports Rock ‘N Roll 50 Presented by MyRacePass title in 2012 – his first career Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour triumph – with rain winning in 2011 and last season.
The common denominator of all those races has been the electrifying, side-by-side racing on the quarter-mile track.
“It’s right on the banks of the Mississippi River,” Bruce Jr. said. “The surface can be pretty sticky at times. It’s always hooked up and small and tight. Even if you get going, the moment that you do you’re right back in traffic. I’d say the size of the race track makes it entertaining mostly because there’s nowhere to hide.”
This year’s winner will receive a customized Gibson guitar, which has turned into the prized trophy of the premier event.
