RUSH LATE MODELS JOIN ALLSTAR SPRINTS FRIDAY NIGHT AT LERNERVILLE IN A SWEENEY WEEKLY SERIES EVENT; 2 SWEENEY TOUR EVENTS LATER THIS SEASON
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 7, 2013
(Pulaski, PA)…The Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series will have three events this season at Lernerville Speedway. The first will take place this Friday night (May 10) in a Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Weekly Series event, while the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring Series will make stops on Friday, July 5 and then close out the year at the Sarver, Pa. oval on October 25-26.

Friday night’s event will be coupled with the All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars in this big early season event. The RUSHportion will pay a minimum of $700 to-win using Sharon Speedway’s weekly purse. If there are 24 or more cars, the entire purse will be increased with $750 going to the winner!

Not only will racers be battling for money, but RUSH member racers will be able to accumulate points toward the $25,000+ Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Weekly Series Championship. Eligible “Futures Cup” racers will also be able to count their finishes toward the $3,000 program.
On July 5-6, RUSH will team up with the BOSS Wingless Sprints at both Lernerville and Sharon Speedways on back-to-back nights featuring topless action as part of “Off with the Tops”! There will be a lot of added importance to the night for RUSH racers as drivers will be looking to accumulate points toward not only the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Touring and Weekly crowns, the “Futures Cup”, as well as the $10,000+ Pace Performance “Summer Chase”!

The October 25-26 event will close out the season for both Lernerville and the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Touring Series. The fifth annual DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede” will feature nine of the region’s classes of race cars. This growing event will crown the inaugural Touring champion and will award $2,000 to the feature winner!

“We’re thankful Lernerville has stepped up to offer us three events this season,” stated RUSH Co-Director Vicki Emig. “This gives racers the ability to compete at a prestigious facility in front of a different fan base, while at the same time being able to accumulate important points to toward several championships. We have been very fortunate to have some of the most prestigious speedways in the eastern United States believe in our Series to include us on their schedules in our inaugural season. We have to thank Gary Risch and World Racing Group for allowing us to be showcased at the renowned Lernerville Speedway and be included in these three big events!”

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday with qualifying for the Sprints at 7:15 and racing at 8. While RUSH rules will be enforced, both the Hoosier Crate Racin D21 & D55 tires as well as the Hoosier FT200 & FT400 will be allowed as is the case with other sanctioned events through the month of May.
