PITTSBURGH, PA — The Precise Racing Products RUSH Pro-Late Models will vie for a $1,000.00 top prize this Saturday afternoon, April 27th, as Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway presents the Spring Sizzler 25. The Diehl of Robinson Super Late Models, Sunoco Race Fuels Late Model Sportsman, Miley BP Car Wash Hobby Stocks and Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns will also be in action.
“This Saturday’s event is the first of five specials that are scheduled for the Pro-Late Model Division in 2013,” commented Speedway Owner, Matt Miley. “We feel that our weekly Pro-Late competitors are some of the best in the tri-state area and we are looking forward to them battling any ‘invaders’ who may join us for the Pro-Late Sizzler events.”
In another “new twist” for the 2013 Pro-Late Sizzler events, group qualifying will set the heat event lineups with a pill draw of those qualifying through the heats to determine the starting grid for the main event.
Kyle Lukon has definitely been the man to beat thus far in the young 2013 season as he has scored both Pro-Late wins. Defending track champion Colton Flinner earned the runner-up spot last week and will definitely be looking for the victory this week. In addition, Justin Lamb looked strong in his debut last week as he claimed the third spot at the finish. A pair of “Michael’s”, Michael Reft and Mike Pegher, Jr. rounded out the top five in last week’s feature event and both are also expected to compete for this week’s top prize. Other competitors who will also be in the hunt for the victory include Andrew Satterlee, Joe Martin, Josh Holtgraver and Laura Lukon.
In addition to Lukon, other winners last Sunday afternoon included Jared Miley (Diehl of Robinson Super Late Models), Brian Huchko (Sunoco Race Fuels Late Model Sportsman), Christian Schneider (Miley BP Car Wash Hobby Stocks) and Logan Crewl (Imperial Heights Garage Young Guns).
The Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates for this Saturday’s event open at Noon with the first green flag waving promptly at 2:00PM.
Adult Grandstand Admission for this Saturday is $15.00. Seniors, Ages 60 and Over, are admitted for $14.00 with Juniors, Ages 13 to 16, priced at $10.00. Admission for Children aged Six through 12 is $5.00 and Children Under Age Six will be admitted Free. In addition, all children aged Six through 12 will receive a free gift when they present their admission ticket at the PPMS Gift Shop, which now features Apparel by Denise.
Pit Admission for this week’s racing is $35.00.
Don’t forget that the Checkered Flag Food Court has a great variety of amusement park munchies like monster chicken wings, juicy hamburgers and hot dogs, grilled chicken sandwiches and cotton candy at “fan friendly prices.”
