SWEENEY RUSH RACING SERIES TO HOST TECHNICAL SEMINARS MARCH 8 FOR PROMOTERS, TECH OFFICIALS & ENGINE REBUILDERS/REPAIR FACILITIES
February 20, 2014
(By Mike Leone) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA)…With the inaugural season of the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series in the rearview mirror, Series Directors Vicki Emig and Mike Leone have been hard at work preparing for the upcoming 2014 season. The growing Series has been expanded to include the RUSH Sportsman Modifieds under the Sweeney RUSH Racing Series banner. With the continued growth of crate racing throughout the Northeast, RUSH has organized a technical seminar to be held on Saturday, March 8 at Edmond’s Restaurant in Lowellville, Ohio.

Two separate seminars will be conducted by RUSH Competition Director Travis Harry; one for Authorized NeSmith/RUSH Engine Rebuilders and RUSH Authorized Repair Facilities and a second for speedway tech officials. Regional speedway promoters are also invited to attend.

Additional invitations have also been extended to other speedways and their tech officials throughout the Northeast regardless of their affiliation. RUSH Series Directors feel it’s important for everyone with a stake in crate racing to be aware of RUSH’S technical and rebuilding procedures and policies, as many racers will compete throughout the season at various sanctioned and non-sanctioned speedways and series.

“One of the most important pieces of a successful crate racing program is the implementation of a strongly enforced technical program,” stated Emig. “Over the past seven years we have been privileged to work with many knowledgeable tech officials, authorized rebuilders, and our Competition Director, Travis Harry, and NeSmith Competition Director, Tim Sims. We owe all of these people a great deal of gratitude for their belief in working together to create an equal playing field for all of our competitors. I know a huge amount of information will be exchanged at these meetings, which in turn will help continue the forward momentum and integrity of crate racing in our area.”

RUSH has very rapidly expanded into Virginia (Winchester), Maryland (Potomac), New York (Freedom), and Ontario, Canada (Humberstone) for the upcoming season. The expansion means new racers, new promoters, new tech officials, and new engine rebuilders. The seminar is expected to be very well attended as several of the officials from these speedways have committed to attending the seminar as well as many others from the other RUSH-sanctioned speedway fold.

Edmonds Restaurant is located on US 422 at the Ohio/Pennsylvania state line at the address of6922 McCartney Rd, Lowellville, OH 44436.
