The NDRL’s UEMS Set for First Appearance at Expo Speedway, ULMS and UEMS Visit Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway for ‘PENNational’
East Smethport, PA (July 9, 2013) Fresh off an action packed holiday weekend that included both NDRL’s ULMS Late Models and the UEMS A&MP Electric Emods at McKean County Raceway in Smethport, PA and the ULMS Late Models at Little Valley (NY) Speedway, the UEMS Emods will be back at it this Wednesday, July 10 at Expo Speedway for their first ever appearance at the Trumbull County Fair in Cortland, OH.
The UEMS Modifieds will make their way to the Trumbull County Fair and Expo Speedway with full head of steam as Smethport, PA’s Steve Dixon leads the championship standings by a mere three points over Portville, NY’s Vic Vena and seven points ahead of Vena’s teammate Randy Hall of Olean, NY. Clymer, NY’s Brent Rhebergen sits fourth in the standings in front of Conneaut, OH’s Joel Watson while the series leading winner, Dave Hess Jr. is sixth. The UEMS Emods will compete for $1,000 to-win.
The ULMS Late Models will be back in action on Saturday, July 13 for the $3,000 to-win ‘PENNational’ at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway in Imperial, PA. Point leader Mike Knight of Ripley, NY leads the ULMS contingent into Dirt’s Monster Half Mile with a commanding 67 point lead over Bristolville, OH’s Russ King. Dave Hess Jr. from Waterford, PA is third in ULMS points and will look to recapture some the same magic from mid-May when he took down the World of Outlaws with a victory in Ohio. Former ‘Pittsburgher 100’ Champion, Matt Urban from North East, PA sits fourth in the championship standings while two-time and defending champion Boom Briggs from Bear Lake, PA sits fifth.
The local PPMS drivers will be on top over their game to defend their home turf. Defending PPMS Champion Mike Norris of Sarver, PA will be a force as will the rest of the PPMS regulars including Saxonburg, PA’s Alex Ferree, Kyle Lukon of Burgettstown, PA, National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Lynn Geisler of Cranberry Twp., PA and a host of other hard chargers.
The NDRL’s UEMS Emods will be in action at Expo Speedway with the Sweeney Chevrolet/Buick/GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series with hot laps slated to begin at 5:30pm and racing at 6:00pm. Please visit www.trumbullcountyfair.com for ticket information.
The NDRL’s ULMS Late Models will be joined at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway by the UEMS Emods and the Chevrolet/Buick/GMC RUSH Dirt Late Model Series. Race teams are reminded that the AMB (red) transponder will be used at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway and both the ULMS and UEMS series will be qualifying for their heat race starting positions. Entry Fee for ULMS is $50.00 and UEMS is $25.00.
