World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Makes Annual Return to I-96 Speedway for NAPA Rumble in Michigan on Saturday, May 31

Inside Line Promotions – LAKE ODESSA, Mich. – Steve Kinser has won twice as many World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series races at I-96 Speedway as another other competitor.

Race fans in Michigan have one final opportunity to watch the winningest sprint car driver in the sport compete at I-96 during his Salute to the King tour, which makes its first of only two trips to “The Wolverine State” on Saturday, May 31, for the NAPA Rumble in Michigan.

“I’ve always enjoyed going to I-96,” Kinser said. “There’s a lot of great race fans that don’t have to drive a while for a World of Outlaws race there. And for me, it’s not that far of a drive either so I enjoy that.”

Kinser, who resides in Indiana, picked up World of Outlaws main event victories in 1997, 2004, 2005 and 2008 at I-96 Speedway, which has undergone a transformation since last year’s event. The facility is now utilizing a completely refigured 3/8-mile track that emphasizes a lot of action.

Paul McMahan captured the win last season to become the fourth different winner in as many years. In fact, Kinser, Minnesota native Craig Dollansky and California resident Jason Meyers are the only drivers to have won multiple times.

Since Joey Saldana’s victory during the inaugural event in 1995, eight different drivers have earned at least one win in the 13 World of Outlaws races at I-96 Speedway.
