World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series Ramps up For 3rd Leg of Northern Tour on Friday
Inside Line Promotions – GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Aug. 12, 2013) – World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series drivers are gearing up for the final trip to River Cities Speedway on Friday for the Gerdau 3rd Leg of the Northern Tour.
Cody Darrah picked up his first victory of the season during the initial visit of the season two months ago and he can’t wait to get back to the high-banked oval.
“We all say if we could run River Cities 10 times a year that’d be awesome,” he said. “It puts a show on every time. It’s one of those niche places that has suited my driving style as well. I really look forward to going there every time I get the chance.”
Darrah officially led three different times with him passing Tim Kaeding for the top spot with six laps remaining en route to the win. Joey Saldana also led a lap and was in contention for the victory before blowing a right rear tire while running second.
“It always seems to put on some of the best races,” Saldana said. “Grand Forks does a great job at providing you a great race track to race on so every time you get there you see great racing. Every time we’re there it’s a sell-out crowd and the fans are excited to see us.”
Darrah became the fifth different winner in as many races since Craig Dollansky won two in a row in 2011. Dollansky owns a series-leading three feature wins at River Cities Speedway with Steve Kinser, North Dakota native Donny Schatz and Saldana each winning twice. Sammy Swindell and Kraig Kinser both recorded victories last season.

Also, spectators can upgrade any ticket to a pit pass for only $10 on race day.
