York, PA (April 14th, 2014) – Central Pennsylvania ‘410’ sprint car regular Cory Haas earned his third (3rd) Lincoln Speedway top-ten finish of the 2014 season on Saturday evening, April 12th. The York, Pennsylvania native would do it the hard way; charging nine (9) positions from the inside of the eighth row to secure the top-ten position. Haas was scored sixth (6th), officially, during the A-main on Saturday evening at the Pigeon Hills oval. Alan Krimes was the 25-lap main event winner. There were twenty-nine (29) ‘410’ sprint cars signed in for action.

“We had a pretty good night…we were all pretty happy” said Cory Haas, “I think the car is still a little off where it needs to be…we’ve been messing with some things… hopefully those adjustments work and we can get back to Lincoln this weekend and earn a win.”

Cory Haas, who pilots the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, Classic Rock Custom Stone, no. 11C ‘410’ sprinter, will head back into the heart of the Central Pennsylvania racing scene this Friday and Saturday, April 18th & 19th; making his usual visits to the Williams Grove and Lincoln Speedway’s. Each facility will headline their weekend programs with special ‘410’ sprint car events; with over $10,000 on the line by Saturday night’s end. Haas will kick things off with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 18th.

Williams Grove Speedway will be hosting its Spring Classic-Tommy Hinnershitz Memorial on Friday evening; complete with a 30-lap, $7,500-to-win main event for the ‘410’ sprinters. A time trial format will be used for the marquee program. Cory Haas is a former ‘big-money’ winner at the world-famous half-mile dirt oval; once earning the notorious ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ title worth $5,000. Williams Grove Speedway will attempt to to end a two-week wet spell on April 18th. Their last two Friday night programs have been canceled due to inclement weather conditions.

Cory Haas will revisit the Lincoln Speedway in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania on Saturday evening, April 19th. The Spring Championship for the ‘410’ sprint cars will be the highlighted program at the 3/8’s mile dirt oval; awarding $4,000 to the main event winner. Haas is certainly no stranger to victory lane during high paying events at the ‘Fabulous’ Lincoln Speedway. The former Lincoln Speedway ‘410’ most improved driver earned the 2011 Kevin Gobrecht Memorial victory worth $7,000.

The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will enter the upcoming weekend fourteenth (14th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL CENTRAL PA SPRINT CARS Presented by HOSEHEADS point standings. Cory Haas is still winless in 2014, but looks change that early season statistic as soon as possible.

“We are anxious to get back to work this weekend” explained Cory Haas, “We have been pretty consistent lately so I’m anxious to get back to The Grove and Lincoln…I can’t thank my guys enough…they work their butts off…hopefully our consistency and hard work will pay off this weekend and we find victory lane.”
